Venue deny that the equipment is old and that it was tested before and after the event but could not explain why it did not work on the night.

I had a lunch meeting here this week as the Lamb Shank was just delicious and we certainly enjoyed a bottle of their Rioja Crianza which complimented the meal fantastically. Charming staff and speedy service, we ended up staying a lot longer than anticipated as the atmosphere was so nice. Would highly recommend. Regards, S Jenkins

Booked a table / area for a group of 12 of us. On arrival they tried to stick us in a corner by the toilets with no tables. Were told sorry we've over booked. On asking for a refund of the £260 deposit we had been had to pay on booking, miraculously we were shown to a table. Granted it... More

Arranged for the team to have our Xmas drinks at Pause Bar! We were originally a large group arranging last minute, however they still accommodated us to the best of their ability. From initial enquiry through to the event Sam and Milena as well as the rest of their staff were brilliant and really looked after us. At times it... More

Typical city type of place with no character and rather sloppy service. Standard menus of fish and chips, burgers and sausages and mash. Nothing memorable of special whatsoever. No surprise the place was nearly empty for lunch. Chicken burger was dry and the chips undercooked.

I regularly visit Pause Bar as i work around the corner and since the first time i feel like at home. The staff is friendly but professional at the same time and always ready to accommodate any specific request. The food is very good and fresh and prices are very competitive. I would definitely recommend it to all colleagues and... More

We hired this place for Christmas party in December 2013. The price was on the higher side and it included dinner bowls and drinks. It was a really bad experience. the music took ages to get started. The police came in 2-3 times to check stuff (not sure what?) the 'manager' was busy chatting with some friend of theirs (not... More

Myself and a friend were lunchtime regulars at Clause which has recently closed so we decided to try Pause which is now open for lunch! We both had the specials which was Blackened Cod with sauteed sweet potato and an avocado, lime and chilli salsa. The service was speedy and friendly and we were both pleasantly surprised with our meals.... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
