Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious afternoon tea lunch here. Scones were superb, staff were friendly, glad to have gone out of my way to dine here.

Had the 3 course lunch/brunch menu for about 40 quid pp. Started with mint pea soup and salmon. The soup was the best mint pea I can ever recall eating. The smoked salmon was also excellent... as was the fresh bread the starters came with....That was followed by roast lamb and roast chicken with assorted veg. The veg was a bit overcooked/soft. But, otherwise the dishes were very good. We chose the chocolate with honey tart for dessert - very good. Service was also good. Decor was lovely. We were among the first to eat at just after noon. So, the place was fairly empty and quiet. I can imagine it being noisy when full. Many folks elected to eat outside next to the pavement.More

A very calm genteel environment in this bistro style restaurant with the most excellent food! The scallops and smoked haddock soufflé were both divine

This restaurant provided the worst service, if I could give zero stars I would. Right after I set down a server poured water over my whole dress and walked away without apologizing or helping me in any way. I tried to dry off some of...the water but ended up having to sit on a wet chair in a drenched dress. Again, no apology. We complained to the team but no response. The server then came back being really aggressive and shouting at me that no one else would come serve us tonight and that it was my own fault as I had the menu on the glass, „he saw what happened“. I hadn’t even touched the menu, also if you saw that, why didn’t you move the menu? I let him know that his is incredible unprofessional to blame me as the customer and to yell at me aggressively without apologizing honestly. He continued to blame me by saying he saw what happened. It was shocking. When we tried to speak to the manager again, we only got offered that the service charge would be removed. What a joke. Don’t go here if you can avoid it, a street vendor will treat you better than this place. I’m horrified. Mistakes happen but to blame a customer for your own mistake is the lowest of low.More

Looking forward to this , was the cry from my partner as we walked through the door . For me that soon changed when I ordered the pork Sunday roast , I would say only about 30 % meat came the rest was fat !...Please don’t tell me this is what pork is supposed to look like , when we have Eaton elsewhere you always get nice tasting pork with a small amount of fat with some cracking attached , the plates where both cold and the food was only luke warm I expect better from a very good restaurant and the prices charged I’ll spend my money elsewhere next timeMore

Amazing cocktails from Guido Had champagne and then cocktails from Guido - he made "off menu" drinks for us (Appletinis) which we're the best ever! Super friendly and brilliant service.

there is an old Victoria Wood sketch called 'Two Soups', which is exactly what the waitress said as she brought our soups to the table. But we had to send them back as they were lukewarm. They were replaced with hot and steamy soups. I...was a guest so didn't pay, but I hope the cost of the soups was taken off the bill. They should have been. Two of our party had fish and chips. Huge portion of haddock. But placing the battered haddock on top of mushy peas meant that part of the batter got soggy. The restaurant was as noisy as one would expect a crowded restaurant in London on a very busy Saturday night to be.More

Having had some very good meals here in the past we decided to chose here for a family meal on New Years Day and unfortunately were slightly disappointed. There were 6 of us and we had a lovely table at the rear of the restaurant...and being candlelit, it felt rather special. The service was sadly not very good, our server was hardly welcoming and didn’t manage to break a smile for the entire evening. We almost felt like we were an inconvenience. Admittedly it was New Years Day so we put it down to him having had a late night on New Years Eve! I’m sure in the past we’ve always been served warm bread but this was not forthcoming, maybe you now have to order it. Drinks and side dishes were very slow to be served. My son ordered a steak which should have come with a Bernaise sauce, we had to chase for this and he was halfway through his meal by the time it arrived. The same occurred with a side portion of fries which had obviously been missed off the order. These things happen but an acknowledgement and an apology would not have gone amiss. Two of my children ordered the roast chicken which didn’t come with any vegetables. This seems unusual so not sure if they too had been forgotten or if they were not included in the first place, however it would have been nice if the server had mentioned this when we were ordering and suggested a side order. The setting is lovely and we have had some decent meals in the past, however if this had been my first visit I would have been unlikely to return.More

Entering this restaurant is like stepping back in time but the romantic atmosphere and amazing food only endears this to the customer. The food is simple but beautiful and very tasty and the choices we had took the English menu to another level. Great place...for couples to eat and enjoy being togetherMore

Flew into Heathrow and dashed over to here to meet my family for a pre Christmas breakfast and deliver presents … they had arrived before me, but I couldn’t instantly see them when I arrived - so I waited by the reception area to the...restaurant and was completely ignored for about 10 mins before I attracted someone’s attention! The people waiting the tables were lovely, but those on the reception … so superior ! Super snooty! Not impressedMore

London is heading down the same road as many other cities. Style over substance. This restaurant unfortunately falling into that category. Firstly the noise levels are horrific with so many people packed tightly into restaurant. You cannot have a.meal without listening in to everyone’s conversation....The bread must say was fantastic and the cocktails. However for the mains we had steak and it’s wasn’t very memorable. The toilets were dirty with piss all over the floor. More like a night club toilet rather than an expensive eatery.More

We came to London four girls together, we’d been to Dean Street for drinks four years ago. We remembered how the Sunday lunch looked fantastic. So promised we’d return. The lady took our coats and was so lovely to us. We had a great table...in tge restaurant. I had the Beef which was perfectly cooked for me. My friends had the mushroom Wellington, the beef and the chicken. We had wine with our meals which had been recommended to us. All the staff we interacted with were super. Our waiter was from Athens he was extremely helpful and made us feel so very welcome. We had cheese to follow at the price of two courses being £32 we all thought it was great value for money.More

Having been a returning annual customer for 5 years we were so disappointed with the customer service today. We spent over £170 on F&B between 2 of us (it was an excellent lunch with lovely wine) and a superb atmosphere. However, we decided to finish...our meal with a cocktail each. They were bland and poorly mixed…we pointed this out to a member of staff who refused to acknowledge there was an issue, was extremely patronising and left us feeling very disappointed. All we asked for as an extra 10ml of khalua to make the espresso martini more palatable (all we could taste was vodka and coffee) - and he dismissed our complaint completely. Poor customer service.More
