Let me get this out of the way: This place featured a large gin selection that let your imagination run with fantastic descriptions of gins from around the empire, only to require you to continue imagine what they tasted like once delivered. To call these...More

Well, to start, The Ship claims to be the oldest pub in London and if it isn't then it's darn close!! The dining room is upstairs and quiet, unlike the robust bar scene on the ground floor. The dining room is done in a dark...More

What a marvelous old building, Upstairs dining room is a great location in winter being warm and welcoming. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was all as described and cooked perfectly.

We were 5 for dinner, but we dithered between 3 and 6 so they had to make multiple table re-arrangements. We were upstairs in the Dining Room and all the staff were very helpful. The food is a few notches above Tavern food! We had...More

Inner London’s busiest streets crisscross quiet
cobbled lanes for an effect that can be urbane or
quaint – or an intriguing blend of both – depending on
the particular corner you turn. Due to its especially
convenient location, bustling Holborn hosts an
excellent range of hotels, eateries, and shops to suit
practically any taste or budget. With major
attractions like the British Museum and Somerset House

The Ship Tavern is a classic British tavern with first floor dining room situated on the edge of the tranquil Lincoln's Inn Fields. The Ship is steeped in history, and has been part of the Holborn scene since 1549. Offering great British pub classics paired with quaffable real ales and a wide variety of gins as well as daily specials from market suppliers. With its mahogany walls draped in candlelight and a flickering open fireplace the tranquil first-floor dining room oozes Dickensian warmth and charm.
