This was our final meal after eating our way round London for three days. Talk about going out on a high. Everything was perfection. I chose the set lunch menu and my wife ate from the a la carte. W8 is fine dining in a...relaxed atmosphere. This is more of a neighbourhood restaurant and as a result, feels less stuffy than the city centre big hitters. Service was friendly and efficient. All our dishes were instagram worthy and freshly prepared. My wife enjoyed the signature mackerel starter followed by hazelnut topped cod. I ate warm guinea fowl salad (who said salads were boring) and a main of seafood ravioloni with mussels and the most amazing bouillabaisse sauce. The flavour was so intense. We shared a sublime pud that was art on a plate. Prices at W8 are very reasonable for a fine dining experience and portion sizes dont require a magnifying glass to spot the components. The wine list isnt too overbearing and there many options available without remortgaging your house.More

They do what they say they do. Outstanding technical cooking with a warm and friendly ethos. Service is precise and the staff are informative and educated but they manage to avoid stuffiness. The wine list is astonishingly good value for this part of town and...the quality of the cooking: plenty of perfectly decent bottles at or below £40. Highlights are the grilled mackerel: the flesh is cured and sweet, Japanese-style, but somehow they turn the salted skin into 'fish crackling': quite a marvellous combination of flavours and textures. Risotto is creamy and al dente at the same time and you can smell the girolles and ceps even before it reaches the table. Big sweet chunks of Cornish cod were handled perfectly with salty chicken-skin crackling to cut the fatness of the fish. Cheese was British/Irish and very good although I could have managed more than a sliver of the wonderful Irish morbihan-style. Can't recommend this place enough and it's now our 'local'. Manageress is lovely - sorry I forgot your name!More

I enjoyed a great meal and outstanding Front of House service here. I had the famous mackarel and eel, which made me quickly understand why it is on the menu since Kitchen W8's opening and the special of the chef - Roast red leg partridge,...pumpkin and chanterelle pie, bubble and squeak, Wiltshire truffle, what a dish! I will definitely come back.More
