We decided to go for a seafood dinner with friends in marilebone area, and must say, we where in the right place at Santo Mare restaurant. We meet the security guard Gianni who was such an amazing guy making us feeling more then welcome which...was the upmost start, greated and seated and started with an amazing wine, and oyster and then on starting with our dinner everything was soooooo good and we all felt so well, we soon will return again as this experience was the best. Amazing people, fantastic presentation lovely ambient very cleant , and the best spot for fresh fish in London, we thanks every one and Gianni who started our journey in such a great way. We really enjoyed. best wishes to all and see you soon again.More

The dinner at Santo Mare was memorable but for the wrong reasons. The food was mediocre, the service poor, and the cost was ridiculous. More specifically, we asked for the catch of the day, and how much it would cost for three people (no price...on the menu). Mumbled response. Again mumbled response. We were shown an enormous fish, and when it was served, fully 1/4 of the plate was head or tail bones. We had asked to substitute pasta for the potatoes that came with it. We got a plate of pasta, and were charged 150 pounds. The fish cost 300 pounds with barely enough served on the serving plate in the middle of the table for seconds. We assume the rest went to some other table! They forgot the fourth person's meal (who wasn't sharing fish) and we asked twice where it was. By the time she got it we had finished. Same for wine for one person. I would never go back again and have told this to British friends who live nearby. They were embarrassed by this and said they would have never recommended that we go there if they had known.More

Food tasted nothing, the risotto del mare was under cooked and the seafood was missing… Totaly overpriced for bad food taste. I expected more from this resturant. We don’t recomend this restursnt for anyone.

I had very high expectations to dine at SantoMare. Unfortunately the experience did not live up to the expectations - far from it. The restaurant itself is well designed and welcoming, but this feeling quickly dissipates by the very unwelcoming staff and strange choice of...music (Best of Motown?) . At some point I was lost looking for the restroom and no staff bothered to guide me in the right direction. They will also roll their eyes if you choose a bottle of wine that's too cheap (£90) or you say you do not want dessert. We paid £250 for 2 starters, 2 mains and one bottle of wine. The food was very bland and disappointing. I definitely think London has better choices for Italian restaurants. Sadly I really think the experience was so poor due to the staff unfriendliness.More

Pleasant, greeting, entered traditional furnished interior with soft, lighting and table is well spaced for London giving reasonable privacy. Although lots of staff service was patchy and lacked warmth. Food was reasonably good. Fair selection of seafood, but please note this is a sharing Restaurant...and to enjoy their menu to its full. You need to be accompanied on many of the dishes. Otherwise menu is limited Alcohol was served well. The drinks came promptly and were cold and refreshing. Coffee was excellent. Overall 2 course meal with 3 rounds of bar drinks £90 per head Music inside is loud and plays American big band which is not ideal for digestion. Had to request music to be to turned down four times and each time it was turned down and then turned back up. I asked for the discretionary 15% tip to be reduced due to problems with the music and the maitre d’, explained the owner insists on loud music she then turned hostile about reduced tip and made me feel very unwelcome. It’s okay and easy to get a table, but personally I won’t be returningMore

Very good Italian seafood. I wasn’t very impressed with the starters but the main which was fresh lobster boiled with vegetables was a vision. Overall I would come back just for the main seafood experience which seems to be always fresh and ready to pick...from the seafood bar.More

We were told to go to Santo Mare in order to enjoy an authentic Sicilian evening. The food is outstanding and we really enjoyed all the food. The pistachio ice cream was out of this world. My husband and I had a great time. Thanks.
