Attending Farnborough Airshow 2016, some 15 colleagues and I made our way to the Shepherds Tavern arriving a wee bit late/end of the diner service. Katalin, Veronika and Aga simply ensured we felt most welcomed, savored best fish and chips in London, quenched our thirst sampling through their fine selection of beers. A great night to remember indeed !

The pub is everything an English pub should be, welcoming, friendly, good selection of beers on tap and good service. There are at least two other pubs in the vicinity but they get very crowded to the extent the patrons spill onto the pavement, if you are looking for somewhere a bit quieter then Shepherds is the place. If the... More

The Shepherd's Tavern is a nice pub with a good beer selection. Food was good - a bar snack - and was tasty. Service was speedy and the staff were friendly and attentive. The pub is airy with a good flow of air throughout, which given it was very hot outside, was refreshing. In short a pleasant venue for a... More

Hired the upstairs for a quiz night for circa 50 people. It holds a maximum of 60 I believe. It's a very nice function room and it is easy to interact with everyone. There is a small bar area that is exclusive to the function room. It is more than sufficient. Great choice of beers and food was excellent. Thoroughly... More

We had just arrived and wanted something authentic. So the hotel suggested this pub which was around the corner. We got the plate with a taste of everything and of course a beer or two. It was ALL so good and hit the spot

Discovered this pub in the back streets of Mayfair. For the location, very reasonably priced pub food of a high standard as well. Plus a good range of cool real ales.

We arrived hungry and thirsty to find our booked table all ready for us. Staff were friendly and efficient and the meals were first class. Truly recommend the beef and ale pie which I had and the Shepherd's Pie that my wife enjoyed. The burgers were huge and filled the grandchildren superbly. If you're ever in the Mayfair area, head... The team mentioned on the sign clearly weren't working today. Surly unwelcoming staff. We were in London as family members took part in the 10k run. Afterwards we all went to the Shepherd's Tavern for lunch. The staff were unwelcoming and surly, and when we ordered our food we were treated as though we were an inconvenience. The food was... Good range of ales, quiet on Friday lunchtime, doubtless busy at times. There are a couple of TVs on Sky Sport, but no sound.

We spent a couple of hours with friends in this nice pub some days ago. The location close to the other traditional pubs were excellent. I can recommend this place. But prepare; during rush hours you may not be able to find a seat ;)

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
