Nice place serving an excellent selection of beers, but rude abrasive manager who spoilt the atmosphere, customer service needs a lot of work

We visited at around 6pm on a Saturday and was immediately pleasantly surprised by a lovely atmosphere. Helpful but hands off service! Perfect for a chilled evening with friends. Wonderful selection of Belgian beers which compliment the menu perfectly. We had the ham croquets and muscles to share- it was all delicious and for central London surprisingly good value for... A lovely concept with a delightful decor; obviously pushing for the Trappiste aspect. Food is of good theme also. Pricing is average for the area. My only downer of the venue is either the lines aren't cleaned regularly enough or the glassware/washer needs renovation. Sadly flat very quickly. Service is quite average, but not rude. However, well worth a visit.

The selection of Beer was ever so good, My Husband is a Big Belgium Beer lover, and he had an amazing time selecting from such a large menu. the downside was there was no vegetarian food option available other than chips when we visited, however the service was good and the staff were helpful.overall was a very god experience.

Staff are knowledgeable, professional, welcoming, the beer list is extensive and the food is authentic. The decor is like a corner of Belgium just outside the City. Brugge Zot on draught, what's not to like! We love this place.

Found this place by chance and had a great couple of hours. The staff were superb especially Lois who went out his way to make sure we had a good time. Beer was good and an excellent selection, never tried to the food as it was very late when we arrived. Prices were also very reasonable for the good quality... More

Extensive international beer menu and just one cider (shame because I don't like beer). Still I keep going because the atmosphere and staff are fab, and my friends love the beers ;) Food can be hit or miss, with the mussles and beef stew being really good and burgers being so so. Recommend!

I've eaten almost everything on the menu and the food is superb. Their selection of beer is astonishing and will keep you entertained for weeks. A hidden gem down a side street that will keep you coming back again and again. Try the Kriek Cherry Beer!

Their fish stews are to die for, and the cauli burger is lovely. Extremely good range of Belgian beers too, at quite decent prices. Two criticisms though, the dining room is way too cramped, it's very difficult to get up from your table without annoying your friends, the people at the next table, and the waiters, plus the toilets were... I wouldn't say this pub was easy to find. Secreted down an alley a little off the beaten track. But the reviews enticed us to visit a part of london that we wouldn't normally. Fantastic cherry beer. Beautiful interior. Will be back to sample the food.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
