First visit and thoroughly enjoyed. Smoked muscles with Cullen skink outstanding, rabbit pie with crayfish perfect for a chilly night and huge. Staff friendly and efficient (and recommended those dishes after my menu quiz ) only little criticism, cauliflower slightly under cooked. With go back 100%.

We went here with a group for Sunday lunch, and loved it. A really nice pub venue with a quirky. The staff were very friendly and knew their stuff. Brilliant food, we most had the roasts, the red cabbage was to die for! Plenty on your plate. The deserts were good but a bit pricey especially for the arctic roll... More

Great traditional pub atmosphere and decor. Knew it would be an enjoyable meal from the minute we got the bread and butter, not something I would usually get excited about but this is worth getting excited about. Sunday Roast was a very hearty filling meal and it was very delicious. Perfect roast meats and all the trimmings alongside meat were... More

Nice gastropub - hearty meals on offer for lunch at around £15-£18/dish which is reasonable for the area. The quality of both of our mains (steak+chips and shepherds pie) was top notch. In particular the flavours in the pie were impressive -not one for the calorific faint hearted I would add..! Would likely return.

I visited one Sunday afternoon, after hearing good things about their Sunday roast. It really did not disappoint. I had a quick drink at the small, intimate bar downstairs whilst waiting for a friend. Service was brisk and friendly and the barman was keen to get me seated - when I was ready. Moving up the spiral staircase, the dining-room... More

Very nice traditional british food with a modern touch. We where 4 people, everyone where very happy with out meals and wines. My sirloine was a little boring, nice taste, but I wish I had taken something else on the menu because my friends dishes where much more interesting! The sides where delicious. The sticky pudding we had for dessert... More

Well it was REALLY cold yesterday. I decided to have a business lunch here. We arrived at 12.00 (opening time) and it was closed. The 4 staff were all at the bar drinking. I know the one behind the bar saw us waiting. Both of us tried the door. We waited for 10 minutes (which felt like an eternity in... More

The Princess is a very unassuming pub from the outside but very well refurbished inside. Very polite and helpful staff giving good service. The food is very good and typical English fare. Tasty and well presented. Very busy with good reason!?

Went there to look for some light bites. Taste is good. Very vibrant, busy, and popular place with good service. If you need quiet talk, I don't recommend.

If you are looking for a classic pub, this is not your place. If, on the other hand, you are for interesting food in a nice and cosy setting, this place is perfect for you. Service was friendly and accommodating to our dietary requirements. Highly recommended.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
