We came on New Year's eve, wanted to taste a different cuisine while in London. This restaurant showed high ratings, and deservedly so, The set meal was great for families and the chef specials are good for those who don't know exactly what to order. The waiter helped us decide what to order. It took a longer time for food to arrive - because it was prepared from scratch!!

Had a dinner with a friend and this Indian restaurant was a good choice. The staff was friendly and spoke good english. We took Tikka Masala and tandoori chicken and both of the dishes were good in traditional taste. Would come again, but there are of course other great Indian places to try out.

Honestly don't get all the 5 star reviews? This was by far the worst Indian meal i have had. And i rarely give bad reviews but for i can make no exceptions. Service was indeed very good as previously reviewed but the food was oily and chicken & lamb both very chewy Hardly any sauce in our curries, just meat floating in an unusual oily substance The veg side dish was good and proved they are perhaps capable of good cooking Just not on our visit! I do find lots and lots of 5 star reviews very suspicious, especially when they have been written by people who have never written a review before! One to avoid!! Oh and when we told the waiter the meal was bad he just shrugged and walked away - not the first time he'd heard that kind of feedback i think!

Visited this restaurant with my parents for their 30th Wedding anniversary. We all ordered a curry and a side. The food was absolutely delicious. Cute venue with a nice atmosphere. The only down side is that the waiter managed to chase away 4 different customers with how rude he was. For some reason he was nice to us but decided that the family of 3 that arrived were “not allowed to sit without his permission” and another gentleman eating solo left after being treated with disrespect. Not sure what the standard is for who can and can’t eat at this establishment but it is a pity that not everyone is welcome as the food is delicious. Would have got 5 stars had the waiter not been so rude to the other customers I front of us which ruined the mood.

I went here on a Monday night and I was the only one in the restaurant..which should have been my first clue to leave. But, against my better judgement, I was seated by an unfriendly gentleman who kept trying to “recommend” items to me because everything I asked for they weren’t serving that night. Really??? I ordered a simple Channa masala and pilau rice. The rice was warm, and channa was piping hot. Which told me the rice had been sitting a long time and the channa had been microwaved. It was very oily and dry, and just had a weird flavor, almost like it was leftovers from a couple nights ago. Especially since the heat was distributed unevenly throughout, it made the entire dish taste funny. I should have sent it back and left, but I proceeded to at least eat the chickpeas..BAD DECISION!!!! As soon as I got to my hotel, I began to feel sick. Needless to say, I spent my night praying to the porcelain god and giving back my meal. It was awful!! I will he reporting them to the health department, and I will be complaining to management.

My fella loves a good curry and I mean loves a good curry. He raves about them. So our trip to London we headed put for curry. We picked this restaurant based on the closeness to our hotel, vegan options and on the average score awarded by other diners - big mistake! Firstly I assume it was the owner greeted us and I have to say he was lovely, warm and inviting to the point I feel uncomfortable having to say what I am going to say next but the food really wasn't good. In fact my fella branded it the worst curry he'd ever had. That topped off with no licence so only alcohol free beer my other half was not happy, as I say he loves a good curry and expects alcohol to accompany it. The food just wasn't the standard expected of a good Indian Restaurant in the UK. As for the no licence that's respected but we felt by the time we we're politely told no alcohol we'd committed! What is it about us Brits and alcohol eh? :) My other half went to the loo and when he came back told me that I should wait if I want to go as it was an unpleasant visit. Overall if we we're back in the same area we'd avoid. A real shame as I said the owner was warm and welcoming but improvements in the quality of dishes and cleaner loo a must!

Original Indian cuisine. Surely an authentic, original Indian style restaurant. Tasty well prepared food, original recipes and quality ingredients. We will visit the local restaurant again. For Indian cuisine lovers the experience will not disappoint you.

I stumbled across the restaurant whilst being in the area with my family. We were all craving some Indian food and I have to say this restaurant hit the spot. The food was extremely delicious and had loads of flavour. The service was on point and the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. I would recommend to get the Chicken Tikka Masala and lamb Karahi. Would definitely go back there!

We searched for a nice Indian restaurant for our 2 day stay in London, as we love Indian Food. We found this restaurant and made a reservation for 5pm. They soon sent us an email asking us if 5:30pm would be fine, we confirmed and said yes. After spending 14 GBP for the tube, we arrived there and realized it was not open (yet), we waited for 40 minutes, and we have seen other people waiting as well. We try to call, but no answer. At 6:10pm somebody opened the door and locked it again. After calling the guy again, he came out and said it was closed today. No apology and nothing. Never, ever again this restaurant, void it from your list!

We live in NYC and eat Indian quite regularly and from all over NYC. This was hands down one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The staff was lovely and engaged our somewhat unruly four year old making her laugh. We almost passed this place over but we are very glad we didn’t.

I had a *great* meal here and would recommend the food itself as highly as possible. It's maybe worth noting that they don't serve alcohol and that the service was a touch curt, but the food made it certainly worthwhile. The rogon josh (their spelling if I recall) was perfect and even the lentil soup (sometimes a little boring at some places) was complex, spicy and delicious. The naan was also spot-on with some areas crispy yet others a perfect fluffy/stretchy consistency. The dining area itself was pretty typical. Overall the food itself carried this place to a five star rating.

I had booked a table for four -3 adults amd a toddler and upon arrival they told me they dont have a high chair and that the 22month old can sit on the couch and eat and that they dont have anywhere to store our stroller-only solution would be to leave it out on the street. I told them i would close it and surely they could place it in a corner and they would not hear of it They basically wanted us to leave. It was 730pm and we had nonwhere to go with a toddler at this time. They werent at all apologetic or sorry. They just opened the door for us to leave.

We were lucky enough to get a table on the Saturday night, by booking a table a couple of hours in advance. The restaurant owner was really nice with us too. The food is really good, and we were allowed to bring our own (up-quality) wine.

Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
