We attended the sushi masterclass this weekend after being gifted it by family last Christmas. Chef Jhun was brilliant, he and the rest of the staff we very accomodating for my coealic partner and ensured gluten free soy sauce would be available and this was...considered from the first enquiry email right untill we sat down to eat the sushi we had made. Learning the basics from chef Jhun and what to do to start making our own at home was really fun, he was a fountain of knowledge, explained all the cuts of the fish and even where to start looking for ingredients. We were both over the moon with the experience. Only thing to let it down ever so slightly was the noise coming from the main kitchen next to where we sat with the chef's having a 'polite' word with each other and maybe not realising guests were dining just outside. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely look to return for food again in the future!More

Average experience- there is better and cheaper in london

We have been eating sushis in London exclusively at KIKU restaurant for the past 10 y. We wanted a change and noticed this one. Whilst the atmosphere is nice and cosy (very warm!!) the food is average. The quality of the fish is average, not...super fresh and my son took a duck leg that was obviously heated in microwave. All over not great and overly priced. We paid 100£ more for exactly the same dishes we take at Kiku.More

Very enjoyable sushi making class

I gifted my sushi-obsessed girlfriend a sushi-making masterclass which we attended recently, and thoroughly enjoyed. I slightly expected to be taught a bit more about knife skills, the cuts of fish, vegetable preparation etc, etc, but learning how to roll the various different pieces of...sushi was very interesting nonetheless. We also got good instruction on cooking the sushi rice, ratios etc. The food was ultimately delicious as well when all was said and done, and Jhun, the sushi chef was a very friendly and enthusiastic man, and it was a pleasure to spend some time with him, learning the basics of his trade. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to learn the basics of sushi making, and to enjoy some good quality food. The only downside (and it had nothing to do with chef Jhun or the sushi class itself) was the waiting staff, who were a bit hapless, but particularly the maitre d, who spent most of his time openly berating his staff literally 2 feet from our table. A slight dampener on what otherwise was a great afternoon out.More

Excellent experience with Chef Jhun

We recently attended the Sushi Masterclass with Sushi Chef Jhun. We had an amazing time, the intimate setting and small class size (6) made the experience feel very special. Chef Jhun was passionate about his craft, clearly very skilled and really kind, ensuring the class...was informative and well paced for all guests. Ending the class with a glass of sparkling sake, miso and the fruits of our labour was very rewarding. We actually had to take home some of our sushi as we made a lot!
