We booked Efes for my dads 70th birthday celebration using the private area downstairs and they did not disappoint. The service was great, staff amazing and the quality of the food was exceptional as always. Having know the team there for such a long time (over 40 years) this place continues to get better and better and they always maintain value for money. Thank you for a lovely lovely day and night!!

I've been eating at Efe's for over decade in their various locations and it is fabulous that they have reopened in this location. The food is delicious and freshly made and the service is always friendly, warm and welcoming. We were 3 adults, sharing the starters and mains and without asking they put our mains together on a platter - perfect! Will be back for sure.

I cannot thank Denise and Murat & all the Efes staff at Maple Street for the amazing service and kindness on my Birthday. Our table was beautifuly set for the occasion, the food was delicious, everyone was happy, we were kindly offered a plate of juicy fruit & Turkish cakes at the end of our meal as a Birthday gift. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. Definitely a place to come back to and would 100% recommend.

We arrived in good time for our reservation. On explaining to the waiter that we had a reservation and showed him the email confirmation, he spoke with others and judging by the body language, it was clear that they missed our booking. Having been taken down stairs to sit at a table and wait for ours to come free, we then went back upstairs.
The waitress (the elderly one of the two) could not have been more rude if she tried. When we were seated, we were asked straight away for our order. Having asked twice for her to give us a couple of minutes, we then ordered. On asking if we could order drinks, she went and put our food order in then came back for the drinks one. I have never known this happen anywhere before but we were all conscious that we were an inconvenience to these people through no fault of our own and it was as if we were being punished for this.
The food arrived that was nice and tender but lukewarm at best unless this was done on purpose so we ate it quicker!!! Even the casserole my wife had was not very hot.
As soon as we finished eating, the plates were gone. My wife dared to ask for the dessert menu which was then met with an annoying look from the older waitress. The actual desert was then slammed down in front of her which made a slight change from the rubber plates that our main meal was on as they did slightly bounce on landing.
As we individually finished our drinks, these were whipped away from us and the table started to be completely cleared with the bill arriving at that time. It was as if we weren't welcome and certainly not welcome anymore!!!
As we left, the gentleman stood by the counter on the way out apologised for the rushed service. That confirmed to us that we had been forgotten about and also confirmed our thoughts of being punished for daring to make a reservation in the first place that they had missed.
Never again!!!

We visited Efes on a Saturday evening for dinner… and as soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greetedin a friendly manner and had great service from Deniz and Murat. The restaurant played lovely Turkish music in the background and, that along with drinking lots of Raki, made our evening very special indeed. Owner Kazim is also friendly and attentive with great story of the Efes restaurant… In short, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Would definitely recommend and will revisit.

Came into town to see the lights and soak up some festive atmosphere. Was on our way back to the car when we came across Efes which looked very inviting.
Had a very warm welcome.
There were three adults and a seven year old in our party.
We enjoyed fresh warm Turkish bread with olives and dips. When our bread basket was almost empty it was refilled. The mixed meze we shared was yummy.
I had the mixed shish, the lamb was succulent and tender as was the chicken breast. There was rice and a mixed salad to accompany the meat, all really good.
We were given a complementary fruit platter to share before we left.
Just a couple of minutes away from Oxford Street close to the BT Tower this restaurant is a little gem. You get a warm welcome, great service and the food is first class.
Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

This is the successor of Efes 1 Great Titchfield Street and Efes 2 Great Portland Street both of which were supreme and was a regular of the two since the late 70’s. Efes 2 had extraordinary live Turkish music with singers and belly dancers. There were always queues to get in to Efes 1 even on weekdays ! What a loss and the restaurants that now have replaced them in these 2 venues don’t hold a candle to them.
This latest Efes in Maple St unfortunately even though still run by one of the original owners is sadly a flop even though it is clearly not set out to be fine restaurant dining as before and is cafeteria style. That being said there is no excuse whatsoever that the basic food should have changed in quality so much for the worse, it was simply shambolic and my family and I had to leave after the starters. Highly disappointed and it pains me to have to write this.

Saw the reviews so booked here for my birthday but Food was extremely dry (lamb doner, chicken doner & fish) also ordered a mixed shish & we just had patties no chunks of meat as we were expecting. The drinks were watered down & cocktails tasted awful. I booked a group booking & were given the only option of a set menu without being told prior on the booking or call. Was told “well it’s all over our Instagram page so that’s all there is” Live music was being played but was so loud we couldn’t even speak. Overall I didn’t enjoy my birthday experience. Gokyuzu restaurant was a much better experience, food & drink & decor. The group were so hungry that we went to McDonald’s after.

I ate here recently with a friend on a Friday evening. There's a wide range of Turkish dishes on the menu, and prices are reasonable. The restaurant was quite busy, but the service was nonetheless friendly and very attentive (they have plenty of staff!). Portions are large, but unfortunately some of the dishes were only lukewarm.

I had a wonderful time at Efes ,the waiter was very entertaining and we really felt welcomed and treated with attention. Food was really good , tender and fresh , I loved the singer , who was playing on guitar 🎸 and overall I really enjoyed it , it was great night !!!

Came here last Friday for my birthday and had one of the best meals of my life. The atmosphere is amazing. It’s such a cute restaurant with a backstreet sort of vibe which has a veranda at the front with tables that fits the environment nicely and is such an atmospheric place to chill. I came here with my girlfriend and all the staff are very home like with you, giving you genuine love and care. They thought we were a nice couple so they gave us a few free shots and a desert on the house. The waitress who was our primary server really gave us everything. The food was so good. We had a few starters to share and I had the halloumi and avocado salad for my main and my girlfriend had the vegetable musaka. Both safe bets but both tasty dishes. It’s the sort of place you can go for a long meal and hang out. They also have entertainment that fits the environment. Belly dancing downstairs and upstairs and music downstairs. Would love to thank the whole staff for giving us an amazing time. Will be back

Amazing restaurant, loads of interesting history and pictures/artefacts on the wall to take you to Turkey! It was warm and very clean. The staff were very very friendly and helpful when we were choosing our meals. The food was simply amazing, beautifully presented, tasted divine and generous portion sizes. We didn't want desserts, but were offered a complimentary beautiful fresh fruit platter which was refreshing. Nice selection of cocktails and wine - the boys had the 'local' Efes beer of course. Fabulous atmosphere and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We're heading back in October so will definitely visit again - see you soon :-)

An authentic, traditional Turkish restaurant where the food was delicious and plentiful and the service was excellent. We had the set menu of mixed meze, followed by lamb and chicken cooked in a mixture of ways- donna, shish, accompanied by salad and rice. Desert was a fruit platter ( this was disappointing after such delicious food as it was apple, banana, a few grapes and diced melon) and also baklava which was fabulous. Recommended, thank you!

Looking for a place for a late lunch we found this gem. Upon entering we were greeted by Murat, a big smile and personality. The service was fantastic and the food is very good. We had olives and bread followed by hummus and haloumi. Then a main of mixed grill..... wow. Soft succulent lamb and chicken with donner meat and rice. The side salad was refreshing and fresh which worked great with the meat and rice. Even the home made chilli sauce was great.. would eat there again. Thanks Murat..

I booked a table for six friends and me to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the staff made helpful suggestions. The restaurant had noted it was my birthday and brought out a small cake with a sparkler on it which was a very nice gesture as was the digestif drink at the end of the meal for everyone. Final bill was also very reasonable. Everyone left happy.
