I’m weary with going to restaurants that can’t cook a decent steak. So much so that I tend to opt for different menu options. My son took me here as a treat. These people know how to cook a steak. Excellent atmosphere and exceptional food.

We arrived in good time for our meal where our jackets were taken and then we were taken to the seating area. The atmosphere in Hawksmoor is nice and very laidback. It’s a very dark seating area however this made it feel more relaxed which I liked. I opted for a sirloin steak and a half garlic lobster. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it and was delicious. The lobster on the other hand lacked a lot of meat and wasn’t worth getting in my opinion. We shared sides of beef dripping fries and mac and cheese which were both lovely. Both of us were happy with the steaks and sides however they were far too pricey for what they were. We both agreed Miller and Carter is the better option in terms of being worth the money paid.

I’ve read mixed reviews about this place and I can say this is one of the nicest meals I’ve had in ages! No it’s not cheap but my god it tasted lush! Scallops for starter (so nice could of eaten about 10 easy) only to be followed by Larry one of the larger lobsters, garlic dip was incredible. We went for fries and cream spinach both cooked really well all washed down with a lovely (£60 bottle) of white wine which was recommenced by the waitress who couldn’t do enough for us. Well done peeps

While having heard a lot about how great this place was, I was sadly disappointed. The service was mediocre. Ordered two rib eyes and a sirloin, the rare rib eye I had arrived dry (quite an accomplishment), wasnt a cut as premium as I would expect paying 35 pounds a steak and took almost 45 minutes for the meal to be delivered to the table after ordering. And the biggest disappointment was that my father got very sick after eating there.
All in all a very disappointing experience, sorry.

My daughter and I have visited all of the London Hawksmoors apart from Seven Dials, so she treated me to a birthday lunch. We took advantage of the £5 corkage on Mondays and ordered from the set menu and shared our dishes. The yorkshire puddings with potted beef and the beetroot salad were both delicious and well presented. We shared a rump with chips and ordered it medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. The downside was the burger, which we ordered with blue cheese. The fries were lovely but the bun was stale and doughy and the burger was dry, overcooked and I was unable to eat it. I mentioned it to our server Chelsie and she apologised and I said I didn't want to make a fuss but I must admit I was surprised that we had been charged the full price for our meal. I would have expected my main to have been discounted. This slightly marred what should have been a treat as my daughter had saved up to treat me.

We had lunch here on a Sunday between the Harry Potter shows at the Palace Theatre.
Although the place was very busy and therefore noisy we good a very good meal. The place has a great atmosphere, the service is friendly and efficient and the food good. If you're there on a #Sunday try their Sunday Lunch - the portions are vast and the quality is good.
For two starters, two Sunday Lunches, two bottles of beer and service I paid about £100. I think the meal was well worth it and I plan to return next time I'm in the area at meal time.

Our waitress asked us whether we had any food allergies early on, and brought out an allergy chart, so we could check what we could and could not eat. She also checked with the chef that our choices would be safe (because kitchens are not hermetically sealed). We were both grateful for this.
We both had smoked salmon to start - this wasn’t any old smoked salmon, it was quite thickly sliced with a lovely flavour. It was served with a cream cheese (I think, with chives) which was also delicious.
For the main, my friend had the chicken - she said it was beautiful but she needed a doggy bag. I had the Royal Sea Bream - filleted and cooked in paper, absolutely spot on. We both had a portion of the mash and Tunworth and shared creamed spinach and greens.
It was absolutely delicious, although neither of us finished everything (good job I’m not big on desserts, because I couldn’t have eaten anything more). And everything was served hot.
I’ve seen that other reviewers have said it was noisy, and it was, it’s all hard surfaces, with nothing to suck up the sound. Normally, I don’t like noisy places, but the food and service were so good, I didn’t mind. I’d definitely go back.

Excellent express two/three course menu for <£30 - three options at each corse & never disappoints. Great for that pre theatre dinner.
Vibrant place in a bricked underground space - dimly lit bar that creates an all night atmosphere whatever time of day.
Traditional & modern cocktails & fab wine list.
Love the simple options of great quality burger, chips & ice cream sundaes!
Always attentive staff.
Booking recommended.

This is another plus of the current virus, thanks to the Chancellor and his discount food for Monday to Wednesday.
Hawksmoor are deservedly known for the quality of their meat and during August Monday - Wednesday they have reduced their steak and chips (+ choice of 6 sauces) to £20. With the Eat Out discount that comes to £10. And.... on Mondays you can bring a bottle of wine (any size) for £5 corkage. That really is Win/Win!
Our steak (medium rare) was incredible, and large (so I couldn't manage a dessert ). Our waitress was great: cheerful, but not cloying.
You will need to book for this offer as it is, not surprisingly very popular.

So glad you were able to take us up on the offer. Steak and chips with a bottle of wine for £15? We like to think its the best deal going, thanks to Rishi. Hopefully, we can welcome you back very soon.

My partner and I were really looking forward to eating here as the reviews looked very good but we were both massively disappointed. It's a nice place and the service was good but the food really let it down.
After a pleasant but lacklustre starter we had both ordered fillet steaks medium rare with several sides / sauces. My steak was overcooked and was verging on well done and my partners steak was inedible due to being very salty. The manager offered to replace the steaks and sides which we accepted but sadly the replacement steaks were no better - both overcooked and chewy and mine looked like it had been hacked off the fillet with a blunt knife. We left most of our mains and they were knocked off the bill. The manager did say she would email me but after 5 days that's still not happened.
We left still quite hungry after paying £74 for 2 starters and a bottle of wine. Not a good experience!!

On Saturday 15th July we ate at this branch of Hawksmoor. It was with my wife and daughter. In general we had a great experience with the wine and food, however, it was tarnished by the cheese board. The cheeses that arrived were tasteless and the portions size was extremely poor for the £3.50. In fact there was more butter than cheese. Also the waiter omitted to place our coffee order. We love Hawksmoor and will eat there again.

I took my boyfriend to Hawksmoor for his birthday and we had a great time. We booked at half 8 and it wasn’t overly busy. Thought the whole experience could have been a little pretentious but it was the complete opposite. All the waiters in their funky floral shirts gave of a very confident but relaxed vibe. They helped with drinks recommendations and with how much to order.
Nice selection of wines and gins!
The food was overall amazing. I tried lobster for the first time and wasn’t over struck on it but the mains were delicious. Don’t get fries you can have them anywhere go for the trunworth mash and the bone marrow gravy. The steak as you would expect was cooked to perfection!
They brought out a complimentary birthday plate at the end with yummy salted caramel rolos
The bill was reasonable for everything we had as well.

I love the Hawksmoor but haven’t visited seven dials for a while. Arrived half an hour before table looking forward to a drink at the bar. Us and one other couple were in the bar, but there were lots of staff milling and I felt we were in their way. Given one menu between two of us and after ordering took 20 mins for our cocktails? Restaurant was half empty and we were seated next to kitchen and till which I asked to be moved from. Waiter was very attentive, actually a bit much and was at our table every 5 mins. Starters excellent but as we put our knives and forks down plates were cleared and main brought our straight away. I can’t fault food at hawksmoor but I don’t think I’ll go back here. Usually feel relaxed friendly atmosphere with staff who take time to talk through menus, sadly not the case here!

Recommended to us for a short break to London. From entering this restaurant to leaving was a lovely experience! The cocktails are delicious as was our meal - every cut of beef was explained to us by the waiter & what we chose (ribeye and fillet) were perfect as was the creamed spinach & beef dripping fries. The restaurant has a fantastic vibe and was to full capacity on a mid January Wednesday - says it all!! Would we re-visit? Definitely 👌

Eating out as someone with a food allergy (coeliac) can be difficult and embarrassing, but Hawksmoor could not have been more accommodating whilst not making it feel like I was putting them out of there way as is so often the case. Our steaks were fantastic, so tender and mine was bang on medium, exactly as I had asked. The servers brought me gluten free sauces without me even asking and when it came to look at the dessert menu the server discreetly told me my options, again without me even needing to ask.
I cannot recommend Hawksmoor enough and look forward to returning. A mix of high end serving style with a more relaxed, bistro restaurant vibe.
