I was here for an informal business dinner with 9 people and I found the atmosphere was perfect for that occasion. It was the first time for most of us, so we shared different appetizers and sides that the waiters suggested, and then I got the fillet as a main, which I was told is one of the house bests.... We went here for my partners birthday because he loves Jamie Oliver! But I felt that the atmosphere was not right for couples wanting a romantic dinner. The atmosphere as too causal and relaxed! I felt slightly out of place as we were really dressed up! One the other hand the food was lovely and our waitress was a light... More

Visited quite late on a Saturday evening after a show so the restaurant wasn't overly busy but had a nice atmosphere. We were seated by the window so enjoyed the view over St Paul's- it's surrounded by office blocks and shopping centres which does spoil it somewhat. Our Waiter was very friendly although his and his colleagues knowledge of the... More

Visited for lunch 18 Jan 2017. We ordered a rare fillet and medium rare sirloin, Both were tough. Very tough. Bearnaise sauce on fillet was semi congealed with a skin on it. Pot of beef gravy for £3 was miniscule. Creamed spinach used to be good here, but was stringy today. Given that this place has a butcher and the... More

We ordered the porterhouse, chateaubriand and ribs. The porterhouse was average and had a unusual taste in the fat. The chateaubriand and ribs were good but both came out lukewarm. The ribs had a nice touch being coated with jalapeños, which gave them a nice kick. The dessert and service on the night were the winners, overall for the amount... More

This restaurant was fine. The food was decent but really did not live up to the hype we had heard about. The atmosphere is ok for a business lunch.

Food was amazing and the view superb, just in front of St. Pauls cathedral. We had a lovely birthday lunch and our server Antonio was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

My partner took me here for a surprise birthday dinner. Our First impression of the place: it is romantic and cosy. The staff are friendly and the service was impeccable. Our server, named Louise, was extremely knowledgable of the menu, helpful, made excellent suggestions and could not have provided better service. If you come here definitely ask for Louise to... Great views over St. Pauls. Good venue for a team Xmas lunch. Great steaks and also good options for vegetarians or those who would rather not have steak. Certainly a step up from a Jamie's Italian! Nice clean, modern styling and the floor to ceiling windows give a great feeling of space.

My wife and I went to Barbecoa for our anniversary meal. Steak and cocktails were superb but overall experience not as good as we had expected and hoped. The welcome and first impression is first class. The range and advice from the bar staff on a cocktail was a nice touch. Cocktails were not too expensive either. We were booked... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
