I've tried a lot of different Indian take aways before and this is by far my favourite. I've ordered many take aways from here and each and every time the food is flawless. Looking forward to my next meal from gurkhas flavour!

The food is really good - special mention to a mushroom starter and fish main, and beautiful plain naan. The menu includes Nepalese dishes not usually seen on the menu's of London's many Asian restaurants. The restaurant itself is tiny, and I can imagine a good atmosphere when it's busy; despite being told it was fully booked most times I... More

So where do I begin.... I thought I'd try this establishment again after having a good-ish experience, this time As a take away. Please understand I live 2 roads away from this restaurant and waited an hour and 5 minutes for my food! Whilst on the phone to an incompetent manager the food was received and was STONE cold! The... Found a voucher on Timeout for the restaurant and thought it was a good deal for two people. The voucher was for 2 people - 2 starter, 2 Main's, 2 sides and 2 small beers each for £12. The food was so tasty, I would go back again and pay full price. Definitely would recommend friends and family to go... More

This restaurant is at the top of my road so is something of a go-to in time of need (eg when I haven't been to the supermarket). The food is always excellent (whether takeaway or eat in), the staff are very friendly and the food is a good price. Highly recommend.

We checked the review comments and decided to go for it - not disappointed! Dont give it five star as its only a small shopping parade restaurant and may be doesnt have the five star touch m, but the food it good and with your taste card excellent value.

The food was OK. . The thing is this was just like a takeaway with 6 tables in I felt embarrassed and annoyed that it was not stated on the Groupon deal 😕

Really disappointing food let alone the ambiance of the place. The service was decent and the bread was fantastic that's why the two stars but everything other than that was shambolic. We had starters each one non veg mix kebabs and another momos and both were apalling at best. The main course was another disaster with no taste, chicken seemed... More

Description
The Gurkhas Flavour Indian and Nepalese restaurant in Londons Forest Hill is an award-winning restaurant with a relaxed, friendly ambience. The chef, Mr Aryal, Curry Chef of the Year in 2010, has learned his art over many years from some of the best chefs anywhere, including Michelin-starred Alfred Parsad of Tamarind. The restaurant is decorated in colonial-inspired style with dark wood panelling and seating, white table linens and authentic objets. The menu features not only your favourite Indian dishes, but also rare specialties like masu bhutuwa, kukhura aloo and somfu masu with their authentic Nepalese spicing. The Gurkhas Flavour uses only the best ingredients of the highest quality to create simple, fresh, inventive Nepalese and Indian cuisine and is now a huge local success.
