We had dinner for two here, based on the three course menu. The place is very nicely decorated and we were treated very well by the staff throughout. However the real star is the food, which is exceptionally good. One could say the menu is perhaps a little fussy (the typical one ingredient too many syndrome) - but when things... More

I think the majority of the reviews would reflect my experience at Medlar but it was absolutely outstanding. I was excited about going and had wanted to visit for quite a while and I must say that the food certainly lived up to my expectations. The crab raviolo was excellent but the real stand out was the partridge schnitzel -... More

We went for Sunday lunch with our 2 kids and we all have enjoyed our experience. We started with the crab Raviolo which was excellent and refined. We choose the rump of belted Galloway as the second course and the meet was excellent and melt in the mouth. The staff was really nice and accommodating with the kids who get... More

Nothing negative to say about this place- the food is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. Contrary to other reviews we found the service to be attentive and helpful, and we were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.

I had read the great reviews and was expecting good things however the whole experience was quite disappointing. The staff seemed really uninterested in serving customers, we were not asked once if everything was satisfactory despite leaving a fair amount of the razor clam starter, even when we left we were not thanked for our custom. Food was underwhelming, razor... More

One of the top 5 meals I have had in the past year. Rump of Belted Galloway with Café de Paris snails and triple cooked chips. Bravo! The Tart Tatin for two was the perfect ending. The restaurant also has a great wine list so I could not be happier. I must for foodies and wine lovers.

Had lunch here and every aspect about this restaurant and its food was excellent. An added bonus was that the champagne on the wine list was Gosset - my favourite.

We were extremely impressed with this restaurant. The food and service were impeccable. For starters we had the duck egg tart (delectable), crab ravioli (lovely), burrata with caponata (also excellent) and partridge schnitzel (a bit dry and not quite up to the standard of the rest). For main courses, Rump of belted Galloway, venison and duck breast (all superb). And... More

An amazing faultless lunch. 3 courses at £35!!! Amazing signature dishes crab ravioli and duck tart still wow on every level! Perfect cooking, exceptional service! This restaurant ticks a box on every level. Scottish venison, perfectly cooked! No wonder AA Gill loved this restaurant!! I would insist anyone in Chelsea to eat here!! Thank you Medlar.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
