The Cittie of Yorke was on our list of must visit pubs last month. My husband is a big Samuel Smith fan and I had seen that they had a huge selection. I am also into interesting and unique pubs and figured this definitely fit...More

The Cittie of Yorke pub is located close to Gray's Inn with it's history associated with the legal profession. The pub has a lovely oldie worldie ambience and the special part of the place, to me, are the cubicles where you can have a cosy...More

Came across this on a walk exploring the area Nice little booths and not overly full even though it was Saturday evening. I had sausage and mash and my partner had gammon and chips. Both arrived quickly and were reasonably priced.

I was having a nice evening in the Cittie with a few friends, on fresh lime and soda due to an early start tomorrow, when I approached the bar for a refill. The idiot behind the bar started by asking me what fresh lime and...More

If the beer isn't enough to get you to the Cittie of Yorke then the interior of the pub should be. This is a tremendous, atmospheric bar with a great selection of well-kept beers.

Arrived 5pm on Thursday afternoon, but no problem getting a table or getting served. Sam Smith beer is superb across the range (stout, bitter, lager) and quite astonishing value by London standards. Interior decoration is hugely atmospheric, with the little booths adding to the uniqueness...More

I am a complete carnivore but I was tempted by the mushroom, cranberry and Brie Wellington. It was lovely. The barman, who is polish, was really welcoming and charming.

Inner London’s busiest streets crisscross quiet
cobbled lanes for an effect that can be urbane or
quaint – or an intriguing blend of both – depending on
the particular corner you turn. Due to its especially
convenient location, bustling Holborn hosts an
excellent range of hotels, eateries, and shops to suit
practically any taste or budget. With major
attractions like the British Museum and Somerset House
