Jeru restaurant garners acclaim for its unique and delicious food offerings, which visitors often highlight as a standout feature, despite some remarks about the portion sizes and pricing. The atmosphere is generally described as warm and inviting, complemented by apt lighting and music, though a few guests find the music volume excessive. Patrons have noted the service to be attentive and knowledgeable, yet there are occasional reports of slow response times. Opinions on value are divided, with praise focusing on the cuisine and ambiance but tempered by concerns over cost and service quality.

Still very new Jeru offers a range of eclectic cuisine based on Middle Eastern recipes. Chef Roy Ner has a very good track record and was on hand to discuss the dishes he has constructed. Jeru is a large property with 150 covers in total on two floors. The decor is sumptuous and in the main upstairs restaurant there is a good view of the long kitchen from many tables where preparation of the complex dishes can be observed. It is obvious a great deal of money has been invested so the place is not a "cheap eat" but in today's market it is not overly expensive for what is on offer. On a Thursday evening the place was buzzing and there was a wide ranging A La Carte menu. "Nibbles" of yellow tail kingfish and dry aged tuna were exquisite and quite large portions which we shared. "Mezze" of Jerusalem Artichoke and Charcoal Roasted Aubergine were just as good and also large portions which filled us up. We therefore decided that one main course would be sufficient and opted for the Day Boat Fish which was an enormous piece of sea bass with which we had a portion of potato gratin. Beautifully cooked and fabulous flavour. Desserts looked excellent and we just managed one chocolate and salted caramel which too was exceptionally tasty. There was also a range of cooked Wagyu beef dishes which would add significantly to the cost - the table next to us had one large portion shared between four. The wine list is extremely interesting and Vincenzo the Sommelier knows his stuff. Some reviewers have implied the wine list is very expensive but being in the wine industry we would certainly not agree - by London standards that is not the case and £35 will get you something perfectly drinkable. Our bottle of 2019 Cigare Blanc by Bonny Doon from California at £48.00 was a good buy. Service from a range of the many staff on duty was exemplary - both knowledgeable and friendly and we will certainly return in the not too distant future.

This beautifully designed restaurant offers something different. The menu was not extensive, but each item was unique. We chose to go with some shared tapas and got a delicious collection of generous plates which were beautifully presented. I was surprised to see that although we came for an early dinner, the place was nearly empty, and by the time we left around 8 pm there were still many free tables. It may be that their prices keep guests away, as this is not exactly a budget diner. For a proper meal, you should expect to pay some £50 or more per person. But for special occasion it is worth it.

What an absolute gem of a place ! My son took me here for a mother's day treat and this certainly was a treat ! Where do I even begin to capture in words my experience here. A warm, friendly but courteous welcome followed by attentive staff who took time to both explain and guide us through the choices offered. We choose the taster menu and what followed was plate upon plate of mouth watering delights that tantalised the palate and teased the taste buds into wanting more. Added to the exquisite food is the ambient lighting and an atmosphere that enables you to relish in each dish without feeling hurried or pushed to exit the table for other diners. Before we left our table, plans were in place to revisit and introduce others to the culinary skills of the xhefs and experience the atmosphere within.

Where to even begin… The decor and environment on arrival was pleasant but when looking at the details, you could sense style over substance throughout. Very opulent entrance and a well dressed doorman was followed by a cheap paper raffle ticket for cloakroom entry. This was a sign of things to come. The menu was average - starters were nice enough (fermented potato bread was a highlight) and the cocktails were inoffensive, but the wine list was severely limited and eye-wateringly expensive. After committing to a bottle, the waiter continued to pour university pre-drink style measures into our glasses to encourage us to keep drinking. This, met with the feeling of being continually hurried, was an unpleasant experience. After waiting 40 minutes for the wagyu steak (cooked at the table) to arrive, it was inedible. Under seasoned, cooked to a point of being grey, and the ‘chef’ looked as though he was on work experience and flying by the seat of his pants throughout the whole experience. At £75, it’s disgraceful that this dish is on the menu. The environment was more like a school disco than a restaurant. We expected a good ‘vibe’ but a violinist and an enthusiastic man shaking maracas in your ear as you labour through overpriced wine and average food, just isn’t my idea of fun. If you’re a group of 16 year olds with daddy’s credit card, this is the place for you. Adults, steer clear. There are several other options in Mayfair that will leave you more satisfied.

So we had a table booked there on the Saturday. They said if we don’t come to our booking they would charge is £60 per person, when we got there the table was given to somebody else because they got the names mixed up… however that’s not even the issue here, there was a live insect moving around in our food!!!!! Most disgusting thing I have experienced!!! Wouldn’t touch this place with a pole! Stay away! When we told the manager he seemed mad at us at first then he took the food and showed it to some of the staff and they all starred at it for about 10 seconds and then got on with and said he will take it off the bill… as opposed to what? Let me eat a live insect? WORST PLACE. Just go Nobu and eat for the same price and have a much better experience!

I am giving 3 stars most because of the main courses. I was looking forward to go to Jeru, as I love Middle Easter food. But honestly the food menu for main courses was disappointing. The place is gorgeous l. A beautiful entrance by close doors, there are tables on the first floor, but we were walked to the main saloon downstairs. There is a bat before going to the tables. At the bathroom it feels like you are in a Medina with the decor very Moroccan style. The menu it is supposed to be a modern middle-eastern cuisine. I thought they did a good selection withe the starters and Mezzes, but the mains became too much western. There was just a lamb shoulder and lamb rack. Don’t expect shwarma, shisha, kebab. Not even a moder style one. This is not the place. What was frustrating. Tagine meal just a veggie option. So definitely main course it is not a good selection. We went with the lamb rack that was lacking flavours (no salt or pepper) and a bit cold. The mayo dressing it was nice. The rosti potato were more like normal chips just cut thinner. I was really expecting a nice rosti. And considering the menu selection we ended with the black cod, that had a great price but was also average. The presentation of the dish at least was nice. The potato bread from the starters was the best of our meal. The only thing charging £8 for one piece of bread that comes with a considerable amount of truffle honey and a nice butter l, maybe better if they would give an extra piece, or even increase to £12 and give 2 pieces. We ordered the hummus that is mix with mushrooms. A very interesting combination that allows you easy to eat a hummus by itself. But again it should be given a bread as side. The halloumi doughnuts were another hit of the night. But not sure if I would come back for dinner. I was made aware that at lunch they serve a good selection of the potato breads with many filling options. This might be a better option.

Went to this place with high expectations, mainly due to the high prices (£12 for sprouts anyone?) Unfortunately the reality of this restaurant is that it doesn’t meet expectations and has a lot of faults that need addressing pronto if it wants to make it. First the decor is too bright. It felt a bit like an airport lounge (a nice one though, not BA). They need to turn down the lights given they’re not going to change the seats, tables and floor just yet. Second the food is nice. The “nibbles and raw” are exceptional but the rest falls a bit flat. On a basic level they need to season the food more. Third, they have far too many staff. It feel claustrophobic and they have an annoying hierarchy whereby everyone is trained on one job only, so has to defer whenever there’s something needed. Two doormen definitely an overkill. Fourth, the Sommelier was lousy. From trying to cover up a lack of stock with “why don’t you try this bottle at triple the price” instead of being honest and fessing up to a lack of stock, to the classic shake-down of filling up glasses to the half way point to empty the bottle quickly (the whole table vowed not to get more wine after that). Given we were not pouring wine out of a carton, this was as unprofessional as it gets for someone who has one job at the restaurant. Fifth and finally, the toilets were sumptuously. However the attendant was far too keen to smell your dump and entered your toilet whilst you were still washing your hands. Very humiliating to be honest (especially when she let out a small cough upon opening the door). And as for washing your hands, Jeru has clearly been to Superdrug and stocked up on their “basics” hand wash. A blue, scentless goo which frankly shamed and undermined this glitzy bog. Of all things to to save money on ….. Overall, a typical Mayfair restaurant. All stylelessness over substance. We knew it was time for the bill when we were told by the man from Del Monte that a “top 5 London DJ” was playing downstairs and we had no choice but to attend. I do wonder who the other four DJs on his list were. Steve Wright might well have been one of them.

Clearly, the restaurant is a 'Middle Eastern' restaurant which, in its London incarnation, has only been open for a couple of months, There's an emphasis on very good fish and meat (with cured meat on offer, too). But in some ways, it's not a traditional middle-eastern offering at all, and I don't just mean that in terms of its high quality of cooking. On the plus side, the food is well-cooked and presented, albeit the menu descriptions don't easily tally with what you get (for example, one of the spinach side-dishes was actually a risotto!). Plus there's not much choice for vegetarians. Possibly negative is perhaps a more 'muted' set of spiciness and flavouring than one might expect, though I say again, the food is good. I didn't think the wine list contained as many regional wines as it could have (just one Lebanese red at £89 per bottle). Ambience wise, it's expensively put together, with very good lighting and a chic vibe. In fact, it's clearly a place to see and be seen! The staff were pretty good. The only slight downer was that the main dish of one of the guests (fried fish) was served clearly undercooked. When asked to rectify this, the server handled it perfectly politely and the fish did indeed come back well cooked (and delicious), but there was no mention of 'sorry about that, 'excuse us' etc., which possibly shows that some of the training is still a little rough around the edges? Anyway, overall a very enjoyable evening, and worth a try.

Where to start. Lovely people guided us to our semi intimate dining experience. Mayfair regulars are a very particular clientele and our group are certainly not atypical of the area. None the less we were made very welcome. Everything we ate was absolutely fantastic in taste and presentation. A special shout out to the lamb served on top of a greens base mixed with lamb. The bread that jeru make with a potato influence is very special. A culinary delight overall. The Sommelier was very enthusiastic to guide us in a direction towards the richer side of the wine menu. There is his magic “vibe”fine dining in this area, which is hard to describe acquire and maintain most successful ventures possess and I hope this establishment finds it as it deserves it. But it’s not quite there yet. Frequenters of surrounding venues like sexy fish novichok etc know what makes those places special and Jeru will take time and reputation building to get there. Price being not a issue, a place to share experiences with good friends and family

I visited as part of a group of 11 on a Saturday evening. From start to finish a great evening was had by all. Starter Recommendations: 1. Halloumi doughnuts- how unique, who would think halloumi would work in doughnut form? …… it 1000% does. 2. The bread- this may seem basic but you won’t regret it. Freshly made, warm and accompanied with truffle honey (which I would drink if I got chance) it really is so much more than basic bread. Main Recommendations: 1. The Cote de boeuf (bone in rib-eye) at 500g this was shared between a few members of our group and borders on the best steak I’ve ever had. 2. Potato gratin (the 15hr potato). It takes 15 hrs, anything that takes that long to prep must taste amazing, I can confirm it does. We ate upstairs before heading downstairs to the bar for a few more drinks where the electric violinist and bongos further added to our great evening. I look forward to my return visit.

Entirely disjointed evening, disorganised, slow and nowhere near Mayfair. We dine at the most high end restaurants, mid range and anything in between however the service and the costs that are charged at this ‘so called’ high end restaurant are miles apart. Whilst the food tastes good, 6 of our friends had to leave before dessert was served (3 hours after sit down), what’s worse is that I’d reminded ALL waiting staff that most of our friends had to be out of the door by 11pm - to my surprise some claimed they had no idea?! Drinks served 45 mins after arrival. Chef not particularly bothered about all the complaints. The front desk lady shrugs her shoulders and says “oh well, such is the way things go”. Awful. Do not go, ever. Save your cash for other restaurants in Mayfair where you’ll be served well and coupled with better prices! 15% service charge was removed as a result of the above - I mean what a joke to want £340 for service which they didn’t provide. This entire place needs a re look! Jeru, sort it out, seriously ….

We visited the venue 6th April 2023 at 8pm. It was my son's treat for me. I can easily say that Israeli chef Roy Ner is the true Mid Med marvel indeed! The food seriously took me out of this world, to the most glorious gourmet journey last night! The food was incredibly delicious with wisely combined flavours. Every bite developed into step by step, increasing ladder of flavours. The deco represents the origin of the food and the chef as well. The highlight of the night was the gorgeous potato bread with humous which we ordered twice. The waiters who served us were polite, helpful and regularly checked if we needed anything. The only downside was the music was sometimes too loud and when we were leaving I had to wait for a long time to get my coat as the staff member at the front house was busy on the phone and completely ignored us. It is expensive but it's worth every penny. I would definitely go back there and recommend it to my friends and family.

Started off with shoddy service - no water, wine list not provided etc but could get over this. Continued poorly when the sommelier offered a nice bottle of wine without quoting the price - turns out it was £240. Having said that was a bit steep for us, he offered a bottle for £90 which again was expensive, we said more like £70 to which he laughed and said the cheapest is here - £38. Not a way to make your guests feel welcome. The food was mixed, octopus and monkfish very tasty, kingfish and duck, absolutely tasteless. Overall, we could have lived with the food if the service had just been good. Would never come back or recommend. We have eaten in lots of restaurants in London across the past 5 years and this has ranked pretty badly.

We booked in for dinner for a friends birthday and given that this was planned weeks in advance you’d think they’d have been better prepared. Food was okay at best and very over priced. We were seated for over 2.5 hours and only had starters, and hadn’t even gotten our mains! Very rude waiter then had the audacity to blame it on us when we said we had to leave for another party and charged us for food we couldn’t have! Seriously, don’t waste your money here, there are much nicer restaurants with better service than this.

Incredible food and entertainment but we were let down by the service. We had to ask for menus upon arrival - we were sitting down for about 15 mins with no menus. We then had to ask to order drinks which then took a long time to arrive despite the restaurant not being full. A couple of items which we didn’t order were on our bill and the waiting staff couldn’t tell us what the items were but had said we’d ordered them. They had to amend the bill 3 times before it was correct. Not the level of service you’d expect at a Mayfair restaurant.
