I went to Powder Keg Diplomacy and was blown away by the food. the ox cheek was incredible, brilliantly cooked and succulent and the peanut butter parfait was sumptuous. Best restaurant in Clapham by a mile!

Nice busy atmosphere. Good layout with booth type tables and plenty of seating. Wine even more overpriced than you'd expect in a Clapham bar. Generally has the feeling of thinking it's a bit better than it is but that's pretty standard for Clapham. Might go back if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

We ate at Powderkeg Diplomacy for a special Sunday lunch this week and it was fantastic. Opened early especially for us (we were early for the booking), very attentive service from the start and a delicious well-portioned roast lamb and beef too. The drinks were a little expensive I thought but this was a minor point - we'll definitely be... More

I love powder keg! Their lost fashions are fantastic! I've been on dates as well as going with friends for dinner. It's a tad painful on the wallet and head the next day but well worth it. Fantastic atmosphere!

I have visited a couple of times now and the establishment is now pretty much my favourite restaurant - service is excellent, food is amazing, drink selection and service is impeccable and the overall atmosphere is great. Highly recommended.

Went to powder keg for drinks in the evening with a good friend the last Saturday in october. We didn't book a table or anything but when we arrived we were immediately welcomed and shown to a table. The drinks menu is extensive. The waiters were really nice and friendly. Didn't mind at all when we asked to be moved... More

I'd booked a table here for my parents 45th wedding anniversary weekend and my mother's birthday - they called me quite late in the evening on the Thursday to say that they were spring cleaning their oven (in November) and wont be serving any food on Saturday night. They did try and get us a table at another restaurant and... More

Some might think being a colonial themed venue might hem us in on our wine offerings but those who think that would be wrong. Come in and turn your noses up in the esters and aromas billowing off our offerings from across England and the New World. South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, America and India. Supplemented with some heavy hitters from the old world, our menu should have a delight for even the most discerning palate.Colonial inspiration and seasonality come to a head in our cocktail menu. Not only do we throw around terms like "twist on a classic" and "signature serve," we re-temper them with meaning. With seasonally rotated infusions, shrubs, liquors, bitters, and sodas our 'Rifle Club Bar' does its utmost to provide a menu befitting the style and atmosphere of our surroundings. With everything from our South African interpretation on a dark and stormy to a martini with ingredients sourced from across the empire; if we can't tempt you in for a "night before", our exceptional Bloody Marys should see you through the "morning after."To top off what we have on our menu our staff aim to provide the best in fine dining experience without the stiff upperlipary you might expect in a restaurant of our calibre. Relax and enjoy what Powderkeg has to offer, and try to ignore the Canadian.
