Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great food lovely pub. Sadly we went on a night they were full of Xmas Office parties… couldn’t have a table in the upstairs dining room (private party & we had been warned), so table in downstairs pub full of drunken revellers in Xmas jumpers....Music was a bit loud, but service charming & food really excellent (warning, poached pear listed as GF but came with a crumb… they should take food intolerances more seriously), wasn’t charged for wrong order (another pud), and would definitely return, on a quieter night!More

Nice pub close to the restaurant we had booked for our evening out. On arrival around 6pm most of the tables in the bar area had been pre booked, but we managed to find one that was free until 6:45pm, so would guess you need...to book if you intend to eat. Good choice of beers, lagers, spirits etc.More

We held a small wedding reception in the Morrell room upstairs, had an absolutely brilliant time. Great communication in the run-up, staff were super friendly, went above and beyond, also let us basically take over the main speakers with our playlist to make the night...that much more enjoyable. Food was yummy and filling, really can't fault anything -- fabulous time with really special memories. Thank you ever so much!More

Drink and food menu is various and delicious. Serving is super fast and friendly. Highly recommend for a pop in evening, or reserve for the weekend evenings as it gets crowded. We will return, for sure:)

Very disappointing from start to finish! Waitress was polite and did the best she could with what she had to work with. Firstly drinks - mojito which mainly consisted of ice and very little drink. Did ask for a replacement, not much better! Starters were...mediocre, mains were terrible - 2 burgers and they were so over cooked and tasteless. Should have complained but by this point we just wanted to get out. Not a place for food, probably a great destination after a couple of drinks for a sing along but definitely not a place to eat……More

Beautiful pub but atmosphere spoiled by thumping disco music - on a Saturday lunchtime! Had to ask for it to be turned down because couldn’t hear each other, and it was, but still too loud. Staff seemed to be enjoying it though. Apart from very...nice young person behind the bar, very frosty service. Food OK.More

We booked out a room upstairs for a three-course celebration dinner and had the best time. The pub downstairs was lively and everyone looked like they were in good spirits. The food was 10/10 - especially the salmon scotch egg! We pre-ordered our food and...drinks in advance which made service really straightforward and allowed us to relax and enjoy. Our host was attentive, helped set up the projector so we could share some pictures and kept the drinks flowing all evening for our group of 14. Great night overall - would highly recommend.More

Amazing food and friendly service: we stumbled on this place on our way to the Dickens museum. What a great find! We ordered chicken which was moist and delicious along with a vegetable Wellington. Both dishes came with perfectly cooked vegetables (I got so used...to overcooked veggies in England that getting vegetables made just right was a pleasant surprise- thank you for that!), fried potatoes, and an AMAZING YORKSHIRE PUDDING (this was so good).More

Had the chicken kiev, as recommended. It was absolutely delicious - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Wonderful pub grub.

Menu was great, food was great, good drinks, cracking service. Honestly couldn't fault it. We were in the private dining room upstairs and it was perfect for 8 of us. Hard recommend.

Have thought about eating here but made first visit in June. The Lady Ottoline restaurant is above the pub on a quiet corner. Friendly welcome. Just two of us amid two large parties but we were never waiting or rushed. Nice menu. Loved the Scottish...salmon scotch egg. Chicken liver parfait was a little wan. Chicken Kiev was nice. Lively Tuesday night. Warm London night outside but “comfortable.”More

This is such a great pub in Bloomsbury and we just stumbled across it as a friend and I were walking around the area after lunch. We stopped for a drink as it looked so inviting and had stopped to read the verse which is...painted on the wall opposite. We started chatting with Jess as the pub doors and windows were open. David and Jess were both SO friendly and welcoming. I would definitely go back and next time will have food too.More

Visited at the end of May (Friday & Saturday); we had dinner on the first night which included fish & chips, the pulled pork croquettes and portion of chips. Every dish was really good and would definitely eat here again. The Staff on both visits...were really friendly and helpful. Must mention the music on both visits 80's influence a lot of top tunes from the era, the pub had a nice vibe with good mix punters, so next time in London will have to visit.More
