We had a very good experience yesterday night! We booked a table on line, got seated immediately. We were a bit worried that, having booked for 9.15pm (restaurant on Saturday closes at 10.30pm with last order at 10pm), we could not have enough time to make the most of it, but there was plenty of time as service was fast and order were huge. All u can eat menu is easy to work out: it costs 16.99 (but with the service charge this will get up to £18ish), you have 3 rounds and each person can order up to 6 items per round (on round one you can even order a bit more). They give you the leaflet to keep all night to track your orders. We got 12 items the first time and we ordered only a smaller second round after that cause it was a lot of food! Service was fast, considering sushi is made to order. There are some pieces that are not included in the buffet menu and cost a small charge, we did not choose any as there is plenty on the buffet menu, including Japanese non sushi dishes. Octopus balls, if u were wondering, have an extra charge. Buffet menu includes Salmon sashimi, which is quite nice considering many don’t. U can get a maximum of 3 order of sashimi each (so 6 pieces each) per meal, which is fair enough. We did not get any drink but only tap water and they were nice enough to fill in our glasses when they were empty with iced cumber water. There is a charge of £5 per person if u leave food behind, but I saw the odd two pieces left in plates and no charges. More than a way to make money out of you, it is really not to waste food. Staff are very helpful and overall service is okay, but if you are expecting “Sir” and softy spoken voices, then remember that we are talking about a 16.99 all u can eat sushi in Battersea. Finally, well done to the polite staff that yesterday night had to listen to the advices of “how to make real sushi” from a rude and entitled American couple, who sent back a plate order worth of 40 pieces because, accordingly to their knowledge (based on Yo Sushi), the fish was “cooking” and “sushi is supposed to be cold from the fridge”. In case you are now wondering why or simply thinking wth, fish was fresh and very cold, whilst rice being freshly made is at room temperature or even a bit warmer, which doesn’t affect the taste of the sushi which is delicious. The American couple just felt the need to teach the poor Japanese staff how to make sushi, including things like “so sushi should be/must be”, “the way u should make it is” and historically “taste it taste it yourself”. They took the gorgeous food back and surprisingly did not kick them out, not even when the couple could not stop complaining half hour after. Not interrupting that nonsense was indeed the most challenging part of our meal, as table are quite closed to each other, so choose well were to seat :) For the rest, go and have a great time, eating fresh and nice sushi for a cheap price!

I've never eaten so much sushi in one sitting in my life. The value for money aspect (£16.99 for 3 rounds of ordering) is excellent - my friend and I estimated that we'd eaten approx. £50 worth of sushi each, if ordered a la carte. The quality was good, particularly considering the nature of the buffet. Particularly enjoyed the salmon sashimi (we ordered loads each round). We left 5 pieces of Cali Roll and one chicken skewer and asked about the wastage charge. They waitress (reddish/pink hair) was a delight and told us if we could manage two more pieces of roll we wouldn't be charged, so we did. Just. Service was good and the bill for two, including service charge and two beers each, was £54.50, which was crazy considering we could barely walk after eating so much. We didn't need to eat anything else all day. Glad this was recommended to us and will look to visit again in the not too distant future.

Visited for a lunch catch-up with friends on 19/06. Was fairly quite for a post-match Saturday early-afternoon. I and another party member was running late due to an issue outside of my control. One (out of three) of the members of my party arrived on time however she was subjected to abuse by the waiter. For example she was repeatedly told that time was ticking. Anyhow, we arrived 20 minutes late. The water was somewhat rude to the table however we did manage to order. I cannot fault the food nor the female members of staff. As mentioned earlier, this male staff member was nothing but rude to me and my two friends. He did not explain the ordering system well and made us reorder due to the menu being messy. We felt this was unnecessary as one of the members of my table has severe dyslexia. This made him very uncomfortable. I cannot fault the food. It was superb. However, it was only at this point that I noticed a caveat on the menu (which was not explained). Each party member faced a £5 surcharge if ANY food was left. The aforementioned male member of staff looked smug; almost as if he was wishing that we would not be able to complete the meal just to charge the table an additional £15. Whilst I can completely understand the reasons for this surcharge, I felt this was unfair. Subsequently, we resorted to great lengths to dispose of the food. As a group of broke (recent) graduate students, we could not afford the fee. Overall, the food and the female members of staff were lovely and I would like to reiterate that there was no issues HOWEVER the male member of staff did not make this a pleasurable experience.

Simple fast service and great spot for a weekly lunch treat - I always go for a teriyaki salmon set recently and for £6.90 is so much good quality food. I like going here for the incredible fresh and tasty food and appreciate the no fuss efficient service. I’ve not made it for the buffet yet as I only work in area so dine solo - but always impressed / envious by quality of food. Make sure you arrive with good time as the closing time is the closing time and they expect you gone promptly - but make this clear when booking and arriving. Thanks sushi cafe, you’re my favourite thing about working in Battersea 🥰

I have been to this restaurant so many times and food is great, the staff has always been great and helpful, but on my last visit I had one of my worst experiences at restaurant in my life. The staff is completely new and we’ve been trying to book a table for the last 3 weeks and we finally managed to do so. Our table was booked for 9pm. On the day of our booking we got a call from the restaurant explaining that kitchen closes at 9:30, which is absolutely fine, we always go there for the “all you can eat” and 30 min to order would be more than enough. Arriving at the restaurant before they put us on the table the receptionist told us that we couldn’t have the “all you can eat”, which was the only reason we were there. We tried explaining we even got a call from the restaurant and nobody said we couldn’t have the buffet, if they told us on the call we would’ve canceled the reservation. We decided to stay anyway because we were all hungry and there were no other restaurants in the area. We decided to call the manager to explain the situation and it was all for nothing, he was extremely rude and had no explanation, he just kept saying he called us and left us a message, which was a lie, because we spoke to him on the phone and he didn’t tell us anything about the buffet. The manager then told us we could go for the buffet, but only order once, we decided to go for this option and he changed his mind saying we couldn’t do that coz we were going to order too much food and he was going to have to charge us if we left any food on the plates (even if we left I’d be more than happy to pay, but we were not going to leave any food.). The manager was unable to apologize for HIS MISTAKE. And not just that but the receptionist was also extremely rude pushing us to make our order at 9:15 saying that if we didn’t order in that exact moment we were not getting any food because the kitchen was closing (may I remind you that they CALLED US to tell us the kitchen closes at 9:30 and that was the time for the last order...9:30 not 9:15) This was the worst experience I’ve had in my life at a restaurant and I do not recommend anyone to go there especially if you’re looking for good/caring costumer service.

Me and my friends went to Sushi Cafe and were really looking forward to it. We wanted to have the buffet but were advised by a waiter that we didn't have enough time as they closed at 3pm. Another waiter came over and encouraged us to have the buffet, so my partner ordered the buffet and the rest of us ordered meals from the main menu. My partner was informed that he must eat everything he orders and that he cannot share his food with the rest of us. Not only that, but if he doesn't eat all of his food, he will be charged £5.00. He ordered his buffet food and the waiter encouraged him to order even more food (knowing full well he wouldn't have been able to eat it all). To make matters worse, the waiting staff stood around our table like prison officers, the whole time, keeping a watchful eye on us and reminding us that my partner cannot share any of his food with us. It was very intense and uncomfortable. When all of his buffet food arrived, he must have had like 60 pieces of sushi on his plate with only 30 minutes to eat it all (which obviously he couldn't do) so their extortionate plan worked. Even after he paid for his food and the £5.00 fee for wastage, he still wasn't allowed to share his food with us or take it home in a takeaway box. Upon leaving, I went to use the toilet facilities and when I returned, staff were laying down in the restaurant in sleeping bags. They couldn't even wait until I had left the premises, to have their nap. Dreadful service and I wouldn't recommend.

Worst experience ever. From the moment you walk in, they make it so obvious that they want you to hurry up and leave. Was told by various different waiters throughout the night what time our table booking was due to end. This happened about 10 times, it's so off-putting when you're trying to enjoy your meal and it's obvious that they just want you to hurry up and leave. 1hr 30mins per sitting is evidently not enough time. I noticed throughout the night that whilst tables were still eating, the waiters were coming over with card machines to make people hurry up and pay and leave. They kept shouting 'last orders' at tables too. They even took my food away whilst I was still eating and shoved the card reader in my face. I couldn't believe it!! I ended up leaving still hungry and in shock. They really need to focus more on customer service instead of trying to get as many people in and out as quickly as possible. Horrible experience!!!

We usually travel all the way from East London to eat there because of their all you can eat sushi menu for around 17 pounds. It is not a buffet, you order from a list on a menu so the sushi is freshly prepared and tastes great. They do put a little too much rice especially in the inside out rolls, but they also put massive bits of fish/avocado/fillings. We have been struggling to find an all you can eat sushi that doesn't cost 25 pounds each, and here we go! Will hold on to this address.

We have been coming to the Sushi Cafe for a number of years now and the food is always good. Kids love the place, and although it’s not cheap when you take into account that all of mine are charged full/adult price. Recently the “rules” have changed in regards to how many dishes one can order at one time, which seems both unnecessary and restrictive. Either it is an “All you can eat” or it isn’t. The negatives, and regretfully there are some, is that they try to have too many covers in an evening. In order to do this they allocate a time slot to you, which is not that long, and if you are 15mins late getting there, that’s going to impact on your time. The other massive negative, at least for me, is that they have a ceramic tiled floor, and wooden tables and chairs. No pads on the chair or table legs, and all evening the sound of wood being dragged across the floor. Add to that racket the raised voices of the diners, which is really is an issue in this small space, and you have an unpleasant environment. Certainly not somewhere for a first date, unless you are an expert lip reader.

Sushi Cafe offers a wide variety of options for a good price. Because we are in these ~unprecedented times~ the food was 25% off. We did buffet, which means 16.99£ per person, 3 rounds, 6 items per person per round. It was more than enough food and we didn’t even come close to being able to try it all, and were very satisfied with the quality and flavour of the meal. HOWEVER, as dining out is not only an experience of the taste buds but also the general ambience, this restaurant merits perhaps a bit less than four stars. The staff was nice enough, but seemed stressed and overworked. We had to ask for water four times before we got any. Another important point to note is the noise level. While the staff of course can do nothing to help this, i would advise anyone with auditory sensitivities to choose elsewhere to dine. The room is small, square, and hard walled, and all the chairs are hard as well. There is nothing to absorb any noise and so everything is very loud and chaotic, even at half occupancy. My table found ourselves shouting to hear each other over the rest of the room, who was shouting to be heard over us. Anyway, if you don’t mind a little noise I would still go back as the price value was appropriate.

I’ve been going to the sushi cafe for more than 6 years but I am sad to say that they have lost two loyal customers tonight. They have an “all you can eat” menu for a set price which we always went for and never abuse the policy. This time when it came to paying we had four pieces of sushi left between the two of us and they told us that we would have to pay extra because we didn’t finish our food. When we questioned this they said they only allow one piece of sushi to be left behind per customer. While we are aware of the charge if you leave behind a lot of food in order to discourage waste We didn’t think it was reasonable to be charged £5 each for leaving behind two pieces per person. At the end of the meal, due to this and the service not being that great in general, we said we were not happy with the service and did not want to pay the optional service charge. At this point Mona, the manager, came to confront us. She quickly became rude and aggressive to our and other customers’ disbelief. I was trying to calmly explain why we were not satisfied but she didn’t want to hear me out. She was demanding I give her my name and phone number and when I was asking why she was saying that if I don’t pay the service charge I have to give her my personal details. She then run off, got the name of the reservation of the system, wrote it down in a napkin and threw it at us. The least I was expecting from them tonight was to listen to my feedback. What a shame…

I came here for the first time in a while and wished it had not been so long, truly I have miss this great little place. I opted for the buffet menu for a lunch time treat. Many delicious treats on the menu, all very tasty and freshly made. All of the cooked dishes came hot and of of my dishes I ordered were very very tasty. I always would recommend the octopus balls as a stand out dish!!!! A very good service and welcome here always, I will not leave it so long to go back!!!!😋😋

The staffs are very rude, hovering over your shoulder, the food was not good some time dry. Incorrect item was added to the bill, so you NEED to CHECK the bill, you need to watch out for some dish with extra charges on top. We would not go there again, I got indigestion with the stress from staffs hovering over my shoulder trying to hurry me up with my eating. It's ridiculous!!!

Really enjoyed our experience here, the sushi tasted lovely and there were lots of other items on the menu that weren’t sushi for the buffet. We ordered 6 dishes each in our first round of orders which is the maximum per order (you can order as many times as you like within an hour and a half). I would NOT recommend ordering this many dishes in one go as we were absolutely stuffed by the end of it and felt like we had to finish it as we are broke uni students who couldn’t really afford the £5 extra fee for leaving things. But all in all, it was very nice and I would definitely recommend ordering an array of different things off of the buffet menu!

11-year old charged full price £18.50. Then on top of that we were charged £10 for leaving some sushi behind. This is not a buffet, you order and it’s impossible for a first time customer to know how much food your order will amount to. Food was acceptable, no gourmet by any means. I will not be returning to Sushi cafe. Rip off
