A friend recommended The Wharf to me and we ate out there in early February. It was a Friday night, but it wasn't too busy. We were seated downstairs and, although the area is quite small, it didn't feel too cramped. I had the fish and chips, which was lovely. A large piece of nicely cooked haddock accompanied by plenty... More

The food was great as was the house white. We were served efficiently and in a really friendly manner by Anthony, who made us feel really welcome.

Walking along the South Bank last Sunday we decided to try The Wharf for lunch. We were shown to a table and left with menus. When the waitress returned five minutes later to take our drinks order we were told there was no fish and chips, no calamari and no mussels. This ruled out a fair bit of a small... More

Outdoor patio seating was nice. The fish and chips came with a large piecw of fish and a large amout of fries underneath. Came with a tasty tartar sauce. Malt vinegar is available if you ask. My girlfriend had prawns and a sliced meat appetizer. Both were very good. Limited bet selections but good choices available. Ran about 60£ for... More

Three of us went to the Wharf for lunch. Two had salads and I had fish and chips. The food was excellent.. Great setting adjacent to the SB river walk. Excellent service and attention to detail. For lunch it wasn't very busy but it wasn't empty either. This was a repeat visit for me.

A warm comfortable cafe on the South Bank of the Thames. Just wanted a coffee stop and they had tasty Danish Pastries. Before we left a roast beef lunch was served to an adjacent table and it looked and smelled delicious.

We were looking for a good lunch. We found it. Simple, straight forward and excellent. My wife asked for chicken wings and I asked for lamb meat balls. Good stuff. The amount and quality were perfect. With a pint of nice IPA beer and a glass of white wine we paid just under £30. We liked it. Recommended

We have eaten here several times as we always stay in the Southbank area when we visit London and generally get a table without booking but this time we were taking family for New Years Eve fireworks and found it easy to book on the website. A member of staff also rang the day before to confirm we would be... More

I found myself around Gabriel's Wharf a couple of days in december and needed a place to eat and rest my feet from walking. I had the eggs royale and cappuccino on the one day. It was tasty enough. The server was a ghost and I was there for AGES and had to pay by throwing money on the counter... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
