Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rude unfriendly staff, absolutely no atmosphere, staff look suicidal, I must say the most depressing pub ever. Avoid.

Was sat at a table for 1 0 minutes when someone came up and put a reserved sign on our table. This meant we suddenly only had 1hr 30min for our Sunday lunch. I looked at him (apparently the general manager) and he said "that...gives you plenty of time". I've literally never had that happen in any pub or restaurant before. Apart from that unpleasantness, the food itself was awful. It was tasteless and appeared to have been cooked hours if not days before.More

Found this pub / burger bar across from our hotel. If you love a good burger, this is the place to go. Menu is very flexible. You can mix and match all ingredients.

This used to be a very nice historic pub. However since the new ownership it has gone downhill significantly. It is now a very rough sports pub and is avoided by most locals it is often dead on even friday nights. The beer range is...terrible as is the decor. I would recommend avoiding if you aren't a regular already. The Ferry House Pub about a minute away is a nicer pub all round go there instead!More

Visited here and must admit staff were very friendly and welcoming although when drinks arrived the glasses were really dirty and surely something they should have picked up on,we was planning on spending the night there but after only 3 drinks we decided to look...elsewhere. Needs alot of money spent on it to bring it up to the standards of others around it,which at this time might be difficult, but a tea towel to clean glasses dont cost the earthMore

Dropped in for a quick drink with my two boys, walking back to Greenwich. The pub is under new management and the landlord and his family are very friendly and welcoming. A shame we live in Essex abs can’t pop in more often but I...genuinely believe that they will make this pub a success. All the best and with the history of Millwall football club intrinsically linked to this pub I hope it prospers.More

I’m often in the area performing in or seeing shows, so a group of friends & I decided to explore. It was a weekday afternoon & we decided to have some pub grub before exploring further. This is when we came across the great Lord...Nelson. From the outside it was bordering average, but we decided to poke our heads in anyway...well I’ll be damned. The decor that met our eye sights was explosive, vibrant, quirky & wonderful! Multicoloured bunting hung from the ceiling, the pillars were dressed with funky wallpaper, flowers, fairy lights & teddies hung from the top of the bar & framed photos such as Marge Simpson/Mona Lisa were hung on every wall space possible. It is nothing short of brilliant. If you’re Artsy, you MUST go. We were a large group & had to sit on separate tables, however I’m sure if we asked this could’ve been sorted- the staff were very friendly. The term ‘never judge a book by its cover’ comes to mind here- I initially assumed the food would be mediocre for a pub. I was given the menu & my mouth watered. The burgers sounded incredible! I struggled with picking from the burger menu, all sounded fantastic. I decided on the lamb & rosemary burger. When the food arrived, my foodie friends & I nearly fell off of our seats- this is what you call good food! My burger was big, succulent & seasoned beautifully. I haven’t had a better burger since. The Lord Nelson has been a firm favourite of mine ever since. If you’re in the area, I implore you to dine here! Or at least, have a drink & take in the burst of colour that is the decor!More

Stuck for somewhere to watch the football on the weekend this place is perfect. 3 large screens. Decent menu and cheap too. Loads of choice for drinks too. Escape the city crowd from Canary Wharf. It's only 2 stops on dlr and 5 mins drive....Staff are friendly and locals are friendly too. Loved it here. And definitely going back. Lots of seats and nice garden area. Parking available too. Weekends there is a fresh seafood stall that is hidden next to but is part of the pub too. Great way to finish the weekend.More

Just a walk by the tunnel under Thames river provides the chance to lunch in a real familiar English Pub. Quiet atmosphere, great service and top prices compared to other London Pubs. The food (fish and chips x2, crispy chicken and a sandwich) was really...nice.More

The choice of beers is pretty poor, nothing that I couldn't find anywhere else. The only promising one was Tetley's dark mild, so I chose that one. It was... more like vinegar than anything else. From former experience I knew it was not the fault...of the beer itself. The staff however didn't believe it was not what it should have been. Food arrived without cutlery/sauces/napkins, so I had to collect all the accessories from "random" points of the pub. The food is quite bearable for the price I must add. When I asked if they had accepted AmEx the bar tender just pointed to the door saying I shouldn't have asked, it was indicated there they do. Then the card didn't work for multiple tries. Could be a problem with the card. ;) And on top of everything, a karaoke night was ongoing (on a Friday evening) at an impressive volume and with terrible performers.More
