Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pancakes as a treat after hard hungry day. Except they were hardly warm, crumbled to dust, tasteless, felt like they were precooked and microwaved or bought in a pack. So disappointing. £15 later I’ve got a yuck stomach feeling. Waitress was pleasant. Cashier person was...sarcastic. Unpleasant all round my first negative feedback everMore

This spot is perfect for catching up with friends or a place to grab a coffee and chill. It’s my 2nd time here and I highly recommend their ‘Very Berry’ smoothie and the ‘Coconut Granola Bowl’ - a big healthy portion size. Me and my...friend are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and the staff were respectful, had bater with us and made us feel welcome.More

I came here with my partner and his parents for tea and cake after a walk at the horniman, and we also brought our dog with us. They were very accommodating and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The drinks and cakes were nice....I think it would be better if they served warm scones with the cream tea though. They have a great menu and we’ll be back for brunch soon.More

A beautiful space, much bigger than I anticipated from outside. Had a good coffee and simple, but lovely, sausage bap. Not cheap but worth paying a little more for quality food. Some spaces at the back, which I presume are used for exhibitions, private hire...or group events etc.More

Myself, my son and his girlfriend enjoyed an amazing brunch today, totally recommend the bubble and speak, it was settled on a ring of chilli mayo which was fabulous. Excellent customer service, great atmosphere and excellent value for money.

My friend and I had a fantastic brunch on a Saturday morning. The crumpet benedict royale was perfectly done and I loved this dish with crumpets instead of the usual muffins, much prefer this. Service was excellent, prices about average. Would definitely recommend.

This place is perfect for lunch, they do amazing food, and the coffee is lovely. Staff are polite and friendly, and the service is quick. Right near the forest Hill train station I use this place often it's the best place in forest hill for...lunch. they also sell beer and spirits if you fancy a liquid lunch :)More

Quite expensive and a shame especially since they have tried to cut costs (cheap hand towels in bathroom / picnic benches indoors ) but sorry a cake shouldn’t cost £4 and a basic egg bap shouldn’t be more than £3 but it’s £6.50!! And definitely...doesn’t warrant 12.5% service charge - in the day!More

I thought this would be great as the spaciousness and decor of this cafe are appealing. It was nearly empty when I arrived at about 2.30 on a dull winter's afternoon and I thought I would get served promptly. I stood unacknowledged inside the front...door, watching the waiting staff and waiting for what felt like a long time to be acknowledged, greeted and seated. I was seated after about five minutes. After another wait that felt too long I was brought a menu and the table was cleared. I was hungry and wanted to order and kept looking towards the area in the middle where the staff were and kept trying to catch their eye without success. After about ten minutes of flapping the menu around I walked out and went to the cafe next door.More

They were not the most attentive or welcoming- seemed more preoccupied with chatting at the bar area. When I was seated they gave me weird looks since I was solo-just trying to get a coffee. I ordered one iced latte- it arrived mostly ice and...was hugely expensive, even for London. I had to go and find the waiter to pay as they didn’t walk around and check. Also they gave me a plastic straw?! I thought they had been phased out for the most part, I definitely would expect a cafe that comes off as eco friendly and modern to not use single use plastic in such a way. Left feeling ripped off and disappointed.More

Called in for morning coffee after a short walk. Didn't need breakfast or cakes, but seeing other table orders they looked very tempting. Certainly breakfast plates were very well filled. Need to return when able to eat. Very reasonably priced. Only concern was although we...were sitting outside, the tables seemed rather close for social distancing.More

Used the takeaway service this morning to order brunch for the family. Two portions of American pancakes with bacon and two full English breakfasts. Delivery service took around 30 mins. Food was fresh and piping hot when it arrived. Enjoyed every morsel. Hoping to make...this a weekly treat in lockdown. Cannot recommend enough. Times are tough. Let’s make sure our local businesses are well supported and still trading at the end of these strange times. Keep up the great work Canvas & Cream team - we appreciate you! ❤️More

I was looking for somewhere local to book for Sunday lunch and I saw your website and the roast dinners looked very appetizing so I booked a table for lunch and I ordered the beef after a wait which is expected for a freshly cooked...meal my lunch arrived, the beef you could tell was pre cooked and warmed up no proper roast potatoes more new potatoes sauteed the meat was hot or could that have been the gravy and the vegetables were luke warm but the worst part was the so called cauliflower cheese that was like a warm stodgy pudding on my plate and the kale (or cabbage) was crispy and had a burnt taste not good on a Sunday roast, the young man that came when I asked to pay did apologise and deducted £5 from my bill but it still coast £16.43 for a less than average meal ....there was a 3.50 cost for a glass of orange juice which I felt quite expensive for the size of the glass and as half fled with ice, the £1.83 service charge which I agree with many who have mentioned this charge in their reviews should be made clear as I thought service charges were added for only large parties but not googled to see if this has changed, sadly I doubt I will go back as I think I might have had a more edible lunch in a local cafe for half the cost. The young lad kept saying they are usually good and popular but while i was there i didnt see anyone else eating Sunday lunch...anyway i await the owners response which has been the same on most disappointed reviews.More

Hi I’m not sure about inside the cafe, but they do have an outside area at the front, so wouldn’t think it would be an issue.
