Travelled down from West Yorkshire for a few days to sample the culture, history, food and beer of the East End. In four days we visited 55 pubs in the East End and Central London however the Princess of Prussia stood out for it's warm, genuine hospitality, fabulous decor, ambience and fine craft ales. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. Brilliant local East End vibe and very highly recommended. We will be back!

This is an amazing place to visit. The inside of the pub has kept its Victorian character. We got chatting to the landlady who told us that it was often used for filming scenes for period dramas. The menu is Thai but with a smattering of English menu items such as fish and chips, which I had. The food is fine, the beer is good but it was pricey at £5.20 a pint. But don’t let that put you off. It’s well worth a visit.

This was exactly what we were looking for; a lovely old traditional pub serving good food. They serve Thai food - they have a Thai chef - but there are also British options (fish and chips etc). It’s off the tourist trail, which is great.

I had Pad Thai which was made with spaghetti type noodles rather than flat noodles I am used to, which was a great surprise. The sauce was ok, but not brilliant. We enjoyed the ambience of the pub, but felt it was a little confused in it's decor! The lemon chicken which my husband had was an alright dish!

I visited on Saturday the 10th July 2021, with 3 friends. This pub has a great look from the outside, and an even better look inside, the service was extremely friendly, and we sat for around an hour drinking pints of Shepherd Neame Spitfire, and very nice it was too. London has so many pretentious pubs that are too modern or are geared to a certain clientele, but this pub is the real deal. We will definitely be visiting again, and I am looking forward to that very much indeed. the interior is dark wood and it is inviting, there is also a very beautiful beer garden.

Came to the Princess of Prussia as it was a pub a few of us had previously visited but only for some pints. Arrived and was able to select from a short but interesting enough selection of alcohol. Food from the Thai kitchen was also delicious and of decent sized portions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a pub without the usual British fare but something else instead!

Called in here a couple of times whilst staying at the neighbouring Premier Inn. It's absolutely fantastic, beautiful old building, a proper pub with a gorgeous little beer garden at the back. We first called in on a Friday late afternoon for drinks and sat outside, it was quite busy with people finishing work. Then we called in on the Saturday evening for dinner, it has a Thai kitchen so most things on the menu are Thai but they still do Scampi, fish and chips etc. It was absolutely outstanding, we were just disappointed it's closed on a Sunday or we would have definitely gone back for a third visit.

What a great find! A lovely traditional pub hidden away near Tower Hill. We popped in on a Saturday lunchtime after visiting Superbloom and sat is the lovely courtyard garden. The place was spotlessly clean, lovely friendly staff, and great food. We ordered a few small dishes to have with a bottle of wine - prawn toasts, spring rolls and cheesy chips! All presented perfectly and very tasty. I would definitely visit again when in the area - a hidden gem!

Called into this pub a couple of times whist in London for the week. Its a great traditional pub that serves up a decent pint. The lads behind the bar are really welcoming and friendly. They do Thai food that you can eat in the bar and to be fair it was spot on, we really enjoyed it. If I return to the area I would certainly revisit as its a home from home type of pub. Just a word of warning if your from up North, the pub closes at 11pm with last orders at 9.50 on Saturday nights and is closed on Sundays. This I believe is due to lack of local residents.

Stopping at the Leonardo Hotel opposite and popped across the road to the Princess. Fantastic Thai meal (also English on the menu) and very well cared for pub. Definitely recommend - mouth still tingling from the Thai Green Prawn curry

We were looking for somewhere to eat not far from the Leonardo Royal Hotel Tower Bridge and discovered this pub was a very short walk away. It was a Thursday night and the pub was busy but the atmosphere relaxed. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had Thai food which was delicious.

Take a punt on this place! Staying at the leonardo close by and we popped out for lunch. A quick map and trip advisor search and this pops up. From the outside it can look a little daunting if you’re not local but seriously give it a try! I have (as has hubby) on occasion been told I’m good at moaning, personally I think this is only when I have something to moan about lol… For this little gem I have absolutely no moaning at all- a gorgeous old boozer, nice drinks, lovely staff, wonderful food definitely made fresh…. So much so I’m still in here writing my review! Thank you Vicky for your service!

What a cute and cozy little pub. We were looking for an informal dinner in the Tower area. The pub feels historic, has friendly staff, and the Thai food was tasty. Good value for the money.

Very warm welcome to this local pub walking distance from the Premier Inn on Prescott Street. Friendly staff, land lord is very welcoming. The Thai chef cooks amazing food too. Great value for money and very generous portions. Available to eat in and take away availability. Well worth a visit.

Called in last Friday afternoon and was surprised to find it so deserted. But sat out in the beer garden and had a pint of Spitfire. Nice inside and friendly bar maid. They even sell Tayto crisps ,possibly the only one in London that does, nice touch. Handy for Tower Bridge etc Will certainly call again when next in the area.

Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
