"Comptoir Libanais" is a libanese restaurant which serves libanese food such as Falafel, Haloumi, Musakka and Baklava. It is motley furnished in a very lebanese vintage-style. But not only the lovely furnishing makes this place so special you also will find a wide range of libanese specialities (wich are purchasable) such as turkish delight, nougat and different oils and colourful... The restaurant is bright and cheerful but too many tables packed in to a small space making it difficult to get around. Food at Comptoir Libanais is always good.

We were in the area and needed to eat, so we stopped here as we have had Lebanese food before and enjoyed it. We had pickles and olives before mixed kebabs. The pickles were a real success, first time I tried pink pickled turnip; sounds odd but you have to otherwise how will you know? The kebabs were enjoyable and... More

Not a great meal. A very tired (battered menu), swift turn over but not with any enjoyment. The food was ok but quite utilitarian.

It was a perfect stop over for lunch on a super sunny day. The food was very very good as was the service. I can't wait to go again.

The mezze platter is simple yet hits the spot. You get what you ask for, and although a simple restaurant, very pleasant.

We did have to queue for about 30 minutes at the height of lunchtime on a sunny Sunday- what else would you expect of a place worth its salt? The queue was expertly managed and potential rages arising from low blood sugar were appeased effectively. The menu is thoughtfully constructed with the right amount of choice. We shared dishes tapas... More

This is a fabulous place for a quick lunch. Menu is clear, wide ranging and interesting. Service is swift, professional and considerate. I had a Lebanese lamb dish - just the right quantity, beautifully presented and very tasty. The humous as a starter is first class.

An average lebanon cuisine in the vicinity of South Ken tube station....closing at 11:30PM, which is exceptional for this area..if you have a late flight to London-Heathrow and a late check-in at your hotel nearby, this is a place to have a bite...

I came to Comptoir Libanais for breakfast with a couple of colleagues and we were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and then had quite a long wait before our food order was taken. I ordered a tea and it came in a teapot that didn't look like it had the best clean - the outside was covered in tea stains,... More

“The Lebanese cafe continues to impress us with its fresh mezze, interesting soft drink selection, snappy service and good looks.” – Time Out

The food at Comptoir is fresh, healthy, honest and affordable. Comptoir wakes up early to provide customers with unique Lebanese breakfasts to eat in or take away; offering everything from organic yoghurt topped with pomegranate and orange blossom water, porridge and halloumi cheese and za’atar croissants. Visit for lunch and dinner and enjoy all types of interesting and colourful dishes, including hot and cold mezze – perfectly sized for sharing- wraps, salads, tagines, grills and Man’aesh (Lebanese style pizzas). For dessert, nothing is more authentic than the sweet taste of baklawa – Lebanese pastries in a variety of flavours such as date filled semolina and walnut filled flaky pastry. Drinks include freshly squeezed juices, homemade lemonades and Lebanese inspired cocktails. All products can be packaged up and enjoyed on the go. Comptoir caters well for vegetarians as well as for a gluten free diet. With a friendly team and brilliant red and brushed-chrome industrial stools, bold-patterned turquoise tables and monochrome geometric flooring, Comptoir brightens the rainiest of days.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
