Popped in here for lunch while visiting the Borough Market as much because we wanted pub-style food as well as a sit-down venue. The market has dozens of food option, but standing up eating them on the spot was not what we wanted after being...on our feet sightseeing all morning. My wife order the sausage and mash with onion gravy and I ordered the cod fish finger sandwich with chips. We also ordered a couple of pints of Camden Hell lager. The sausage and mash came with 3 sausages and healthy portion of mash & excellent onion gravy. My sandwich was also very good and I was lucky enough to get to dip a few of my chips in some leftover gravy from my wife’s dish. Would go again!More
Private party in upstairs room for sixty. Great spot and well supported by events team in preparation. Recommended!
Hello Emmainthecity, thank you for booking with us and we are glad that you have enjoyed yourselves.
We celebrated my daughters 30th Birthday last Saturday night. We booked the private room above the pub. We had a fabulous night. The staff and venue was great and the food really good. Overall I would recommend this place for any celebration you are having....Thank you for giving my daughter such a brilliant night to remember.More

Thanks Andrew, we try our best. Next time you are in town please try our hidden gem of a restaurant.
Had a really great time at the Market Porter at Borough Market. The upstairs restaurant is such a great space which looks out over the market which we loved and the food was so good and so well presented but what topped the visit off...was our server who we found out was also from Canada. He made the visit even better and we highly recommend the place. Will definitely be back one day!!More
Hi Brian, thanks for a great review. Glad you had a had a great experience.
Nice traditional pub on the edge of Borough Market, with food to match. Service a bit stretched, but helpful and friendly when it arrived. Busy - so booking advised.
Thank you for your feedback. Depending on time of day, we do get very stretched. Hope you enjoyed
This is a classic old British pub opposite Borough Market. There is plenty of seating and a decent range of drinks. Food is also available. From Monday to Friday, it is open between 6am and 9am, which is unusual!
Hi Nicholas, I love you said we have plenty of seats, every day people are asking me for more chairs. You must have come in at the perfect time. Thanks for review.
We decided to stop in and have a pint and some local eats. The atmosphere was very London pubbish. Must walk to the bar to order drinks and food. Worth a look if you’re in the area.
Hi MasterP007, yes table service in an English pub is rare. Traditionally, order at the bar is how we operate. Glad you enjoyed.
Located adjacent to Borough Market, this very popular authentic London tavern offers a dozen draught ale options, as well as a wide range of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The food is straightforward pub grub, fresh and served in generous portions. Service is cheerful and...swift.More
Hi Borrum, thanks for your review.
I’m an independent Dutch-language tour guide in London and made a tailormade day-long tour for a Dutch couple that included Sunday roast at The Market Porter. The couple were very impressed with the beautiful interior (it was their wish to have lunch in a quintessential...British pub) and loved their first ever Sunday roast. The food was just perfect indeed with very generous portions! (Sadly none of us could finish it.) They even took great care of my gluten-free diet and it was a joy to be able to indulge in a roast without any worries! Equally impressive is the tranquility indoors, quite the contrast with the hustle and bustle of Borough Market right outside the doorstep. Fabulous pub and fantastic food for a fair price considering its location, the portion size and quality of the food. Definitely worth a visit, but might be wise to book ahead!More

Great Sunday lunch with a lovely view over borough market. Great friendly service and a good choice of traditional roasts plus other choices including vegetarian
Glad you had a great time!! Thanks for the review
A great Sunday lunch experience with family and friend. Table overlooking the market which was a bonus. The service was excellent and everyone really loved their lunch. For me the highlight was the beetroot and butternut squash Wellington. The selection of roast meat was just...right and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back.More
Hello, thank you so much. We are so happy to hear you have enjoyed your experience with us. Will definitely pass on your remarks to our Chefs, who keep working hard to perfect every dish we serve. Hope to see you soon.
Great for drinks and meeting people, good atmosphere, can be very noisy but it adds to the atmosphere of a busy busy pub, good to see them thriving in this age…
Cheers, Southhamptonajules! it does get very busy and noisy. It's not for everyone, but it us... Thanks
Dropped in for a couple of drinks after the coronation. Good range of drinks. Initially slow service but following rounds much quicker.
