The food in the Elgar Room is as tasty as one might hope from a pre-concert restaurant situated within the Royal Albert Hall. They also offer a good if seriously over-priced selection of wines. Our waiter yesterday Mauro worked tirelessly to ensure that this part...More

My husband took me here for my birthday, we had dinner before seeing the show by Eliades Ochoa. The room is beautiful, very spacious and elegant as befits the Albert Hall. We were served by a lovely young woman called Kristine - she paid us...More

Vastly inferior to Italian on first floor. This room purported to be something special but was furnished like a conference centre and had no atmosphere, disappointing in such a lovely venue. The food and drink were tasty but poorly presented and you need to order...More

The performance started at 19:00 and I had booked a table for 6 people at 17:00. Starters were average, and arrived 35 mins . The mains did not arrive until 18:45 my steak was cold and over cooked. The steak cost £24.00, just the steak,...More

Disappointing pre show meal at this restaurant. The food itself was fine but management were determined to upsell and promote /enforce the three course meal deal (at 5pm). They were inflexible when it came to menu requests. For three main courses and two sides with...More

Based inside the Royal Albert Hall. Very convenient for pre concert dining. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice spacious environment. Salad starter was poor. The blue cheese had hardly any blue bits. The dressing was unimaginative. The lettuce and chicory was not crisp. Disappointed. The main...More

We dined with friends before a prom concert. Staff were cheery and accommodating and the food was excellent. We particularly appreciated being able to have our desserts and coffee back at our table during the interval. The whole experience made the evening feel really special.

We came here prior to a proms night. The actual room of the restaurant was disappointing and looks a bit like a function room. We waited a while before someone came to take our order, however after that, service was very good. We both had...More

Food was beautifully presented but the portions were extraordinarily small. There wasn't a single vegan option for any of the courses on the menu which was incredible in this day and age especially for such a multicultural city. The cost was considerable taking into account...More

With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming

Description
The Elgar Bar & Grill at the Royal Albert Hall, is a relaxed and stylish restaurant, serving a wide range of dishes fresh from the Josper Grill. The restaurant opens its doors to patrons two hours before each performance and remains open until after the interval allowing guests to pre-order dinner and dessert to enjoy within the intermission. After evening service ends, The Elgar Bar & Grill turns into the Elgar Room and plays host to a wide range of live events, from Late Night Laughs to Late Night Jazz, Silent Film nights to Sunday morning Classical music recitals and more. Food and drink is provided by the Hall’s deliciously different caterers – rhubarb. Advance booking is highly recommended. You can do this by visiting the Food & Drink section of the Royal Albert Hall's website.
