We had just arrived in the Westminster area on our planned walking tour of the surroundings when the heavens opened up and started to drench us. We sought shelter in the Westminster Arms along with dozens of other bedraggled tourists. The ground floor area was...absolutely packed but we climbed up the rickety stairs to the 1st floor. Here the gentleman behind the bar told us that they were full, but fortunately a couple of gentlemen occupying a table for 6 persons slid over to make room for our party of 4. So nice of them! We then settled in to look at what the food menu was like. We didn't have much of an appetite so we restricted ourselves to sharing a plate of nachos, a sausage roll, a Scotch egg based on chorizo and a couple of servings of sticky pudding. For drinks we focused mainly on fruity ciders. The service provided by both the older gentleman and the young lady behind the bar was great - friendly and efficient! By the time that we left we had dried out a bit and were glad that our little pit stop here had been so pleasant. Thank you!More

Fantastic British Pub near Parliament. This was my first time in an actual pub and I was very pleased. The bar tender was, I assume, also the owner named Francois. Naturally, he was from France. Had a couple of pints here after I climbed to...the top of Elizabeth Tower to see Big Ben. I’m quite taken with London and this was a great experience to have. If you’re near Parliament, go check this place out for an authentic experience.More

Found this pub in the back street behind the Supreme Court and first impressions were that it wasn’t a pub!! No tables, just a scattering of stools and bare floor. So all a bit odd really. The bar staff were very friendly but the drinks...pricey. Apparently there is a wine bar downstairs but you could only go if eating. So my upshot of this establishment is that it must get crowded by someone at sometime and that they all don’t mind standing!!!More

Great pub right in Westminster serving a great range of traditional English ales, beers and proper British food, my family’s was impressed with the Steak pie with mash potatoes and obviously with the best fish and chips we’ve had in London , this is one...of the most traditional pubs in central London with more than 100 years history,Tad and Augustus served us and made us feel like we were part of this historyMore

Food nice. Staff couldn’t be less helpful or more rude. One literally knocked my drink over then cleaned up the spill around it. No apology. Anyway.. convenient spot, good food. Just don’t expect a smile 🤣

The place was very crowded and dark. Slow service. Got ham sandwich and chips for lunch. The food was awful and expensive. Cheap ham, cheap bread, rocket and awful onion chutney all over it.

Great little pub, reasonably priced food and good portions. Westminster area is extremely busy, especially during the tourist season and most of the pubs/cafes are super busy. This one was much quieter and a great little spot in the side streets.

Terrible service. We ordered 3 soft drinks when we walked in, and it took them 30 minutes and us reminding them to bring them out. Then I asked for my burger with no mayo, and it came out with. After I sent it back, they...came back out and the mayo had been clearly scraped off, because all the garnishings I was supposed to have with the burger were gone, so I had just meat. The burger I may add was severely over cooked. Avoid this place.More

After a long hot day watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and then walking through Westminster Abbey - my wife and I really wanted a nice old London Pub to sit down, have a cold drink and something nice to eat. We...had passed this pub earlier in the day and I had stuck my head in and decided that we would come back later. It has a nice big area on the main floor to have a pint of something tasty, which is exactly what we did! I had a pint of Shepherd Neame Cider and my wife had a glass of Prosecco. After relaxing for a bit, we went downstairs to the eating area and ordered some lunch. For an appetizer we had the Cocktail Pigs In Blankets with a Cumberland sauce (5.50), which were really tasty although they didn't come as appetizers like we had asked but rather with our mains. I ordered the Braised Beef, Ale & Onion Pie that came with mashed potatoes and mixed greens (15.50), which was very tasty and came with a really good gravy My wife ordered the Haddock Fish & Chips (17.00) and received a huge piece of Haddock with pea puree, chips and tartar sauce - she said it was excellent. We were so stuffed that there was no room for dessert. Friendly staff, good menu and a great location by the Abbey - definitely check this place out if you are looking for a good pub in the area!More

Quirky place. The ground floor bar is empty. No furniture or anything. Asked for a meal and told there was a wait. I said we would and the wait ended up being a minute! We we 'allowed' to venture to the basement which was actually...furnished. Good selection of pub food. Good service. Good ale. Oasis in the middle of the city.More

One of the military police at Westminster Abbey suggested that we go there for a pint and a meal. We loved the cozy atmosphere upstairs and downstairs where we ate. The pints were cold and room temperature - just right. Our dinners were delicious: cheeseburger,...onion rings, fish and chips, and the steak, onion, and ale pie. Service was so friendly. We would definitely go there again!More

We had the most amazing lunch here, my husband had the Beef Ale & Onion Pie and I had a Chicken Burger minus the bun but with extra salad with fantastic chips! Portion size was plentiful. We had spent the morning walking around Westminster Abbey...which was truly a great experience. We were ready for some food and a sit down before heading off to the Temple Church. This place is just across the road from the Abbey and downstairs you will find lovely wooden alcoves to sit and enjoy your food. Would definitely recommend, the bar staff were helpful, the Guinness was good so if you're in the area definitely one to check out.More
