A perfect introduction to Indian food! I’m from the SW coast of Florida with a very small Indian population. I was determined while I was in Hampstead to learn more. I was candid with the young man who served me and he made recommendations that...were lovely. I am hooked. Fantastic experience all the way around. It’s easy to see why this lovely restaurant has been here since the 1950s. An attention to detail makes this place welcoming and elegant at the same time. I will definitely be back.More

Tasteful food and good service! I’ve in the restaurant twice with my wife, and in both visits we liked it and recommend. It is not expensive.

Good food but awful service - the staff were very rude to my non-English guests, and when I (female) asked for the bill the waiter ignored me and spoke to my boyfriend instead. The food was tasty but service took a very long time, had...to wait 20 mins for the bill to arrive even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Poor experience, would not recommendMore

We used to enjoy the food here but last night was terrible. A vegetable dhansak with no lentils and no veg apart from potato! Oily mushy dhal with no tarka. More soggy potatoes and a paneer as sweet as a cake. No spice or texture...to any food. Just mushy and very greasy. The end of the local curry house, such a shame.More

Text: The food here used to be so good. Or years my family enjoyed takeaways regularly. But last night, it was not good at all, I could not eat more than a few mouthfuls. The rice was reheated (refried? Leftovers?) and not fresh. The bits...of chicken were dry and I think left over. The samosas were tasteless. The vegetable samosas were mushy with no body and not classic potato and peas but some sort of veggie mush. The whole dinner for one cost 25 pounds. It was really not good. I phoned and they said they would replace the meal. With more of the same? They were not listening. I think they sold me leftovers. Their food used to be delicious and I think they have gone downnhill. Maybe safer to eat in? Delivery not a good idea.More

The food was very well prepared and extremely tasty, arriving quickly so we weren't sat around waiting for too long. The staff were friendly and efficient. A great traditional curry house in the centre of Hampstead. I have been here many times in the past but this was our first visit in a few years and it did not disappoint, service good, food very tasty and all the classics available. Manager...very friendly and chatty, gave my daughter a free ice cream!More

Very tasty curry and good service. All very fresh. Waiters so helpful and wore makes ALL the time we were there. Hand sanitizer available , cutlery wrapped and clean menus. A good old fashioned curry house with great food.

The food here is amazing and the staff are so attentive and kind. It's quite a quiet restaurant but this is perfect in covid-19 times. My favourite Tandoori restaurant in Hampstead by far. Will definitely be returning!

I visited this restaurant mid-week while my partner was at a work function. I dined alone...cue the violins....the staff were reasonably attentive, the food arrived in good time. It was not the most flavoursome food I have ever eaten but it was value for money...and enjoyable. I would definitely return.More

Tried for the first time (for many years probably) and enjoyed the pappadum, the king prawn main dish, the garlic tikka chicken dish and the rice, but not the onion bhaji that was too dense (one prefers a lighter bhaji, and preferably with more onion...and less lentils) It was quiet in the restaurant with few other diners, so the atmosphere was lacking. Always greeted with a warm welcome followed by drink orders being taken promptly, allowing the extensive menu to be studied at leisure. The bill is never a shock and no sooner has one left than the thought of returning springs to mind!
