We had our wedding here - we wanted a party vibe and we got that in buckets! The venue itself is beautiful, really well kept, spacious, funky, they put up bunting for us, and the fairy lights that the pub has already make it really special.
We had finger food rather than a sit down meal. The food was fabulous and plentiful, coming out in 3 servings across the afternoon/evening. Lots of people commented on how delicious it was.
They provide a wedding planner, Amber, who helps and guides on all the details and is across everything from the minute you enquire/book to even the night before when i had last minute questions. She gives sound advice on the options available and was wonderful to have by our side in the lead up.
I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our reception for a proper London wedding. Thank you to the Londesborough for being everything we hoped it would be and more. If in doubt, go for it!

My wife and I couldn't recommend The Londesborough highly enough as a wedding reception venue. A number of people have been in touch since our day to say theirs was the best food that they'd ever had at a wedding (and people really appreciate being able to choose on the day rather than having to order weeks in advance). The team at the pub know how to run a wedding like clockwork - the place looked fantastic on the day and they run a really efficient, thoughtful and friendly prep process through Amber. The reception felt special but relaxed - it was exactly what we wanted.

We had our Wedding reception at The Londesborough in October 2022 and we can't recommend them highly enough. We knew this pub had a great reputation as a reception venue and we were not disappointed. Every question we had was answered quickly and the team made what can be a complex day to organise very easy. They were also very happy to accommodate our wish to have a vegan menu.
We felt like the team really cared about making our Wedding a joyous day for us and for all our family and friends - a huge thank you to them!

Booked in advance for 3 people for a Sunday roast. Despite this, upon arrival we were told we’d been allocated a table for 2 and an extra chair had been slotted in. Waiting staff commented on the size of the table and offered us another table that was already occupied by a couple (this was also a 2 person table). There was a 4 person table available which we asked would we be able to take instead to which we were told they’d lose out on business seating 3 to a 4 seater table. 3 different members of staff continued to argue this with us at one point even saying “what does a three person table look like?”. We emphasised to staff that we had pre booked for 3 people to eat dinner and that we would not be able to comfortably sit at a table designed for 2. After a lot of back and forth, we were eventually seated at the 4 seater table that had been available from our arrival. Staff gave no apology and told us that we were being difficult. Despite the good food, the general experience was definitely one to deter us from returning again.

This is my local pub and it was our first choice for a Sunday Roast when lockdown restrictions eased and we could eat inside.
We booked a table for 7pm....they were busy earlier and we eat late but this was a mistake.
The Covid-19 precautions in the pub were poor. Tables were too close and staff with masks around their chins reluctantly dragged a moist cloth over tables between diners.
The food would probably have been fabulous at 1pm but at 7pm it was awful. The potatoes were over cooked and tasted warmed up. We had this issue at the pub several years ago and we complained and the owner invited us back for a free lunch. We weren't looking for a free lunch .. we wanted a good roast and to support out local pub. So we asked for fresh roast potatoes. They arrived with an apology but they were still luke warm, overcooked and stale. My beef was cold and chewy. The gravy was black and burnt. The stir fried vegetables were fantastic until you hit some raw ones!!
We complained. We were offered coffee which we declined.
The waitress then said that we had been there before and complained!! Yes we are locals. We complained about the same issue 3 years ago...we were given a free meal and we returned regularly!!
The stand in manager was reluctant to not charge me for my meal claiming I has ate most of it !! I ate one of the 3 slices of beef. Half a potato and half a Yorkshire. Some randomly cooked veggies.
We crept out of out local never to return!!
A meal should be as good at 7pm as it is at 1pm.. or don't serve it

The Londesborough is a fantastic wedding venue. We had our wedding celebration there on 17 June 2023, and everyone who attended said that it was a wonderful day. The food was lovely (we had barbecue) and they really went out of their way to cater for everyone, with great vegan food. The atmosphere was perfect, and the organisation seamless. Amber was fantastic in helping us organise, as was Greg and all the staff. All our guests commented on how friendly the staff were, and how good the food was. We really had a great time, and thoroughly recommend it as a wedding venue. Thanks for a fabulous day.

My cousin rented The Londesborough for her wedding and it did not disappoint. Being able to choose which meal you'd like from a number of options for starter/main was a surprise and the food was truly delicious. The setup was perfect and everyone could hear/see for speeches etc. A really lovely day.

We had our wedding reception here a couple of weeks ago and I can't recommend the Londesborough more. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and ensured that our day went as smoothly as possible. The food was incredible and we had so many comments from our guests, saying that it was the best food they've ever been served at a wedding! The dancing after the meal was SO much fun and the dance floor was the perfect size to accommodate all of our guests. We booked most of our suppliers from the recommendations list provided by the Londesborough, including our photographer, the DJ and the bunting. My only wish is that we could do it all over again!! Thank you!!

My youngest son and his new wife held their wedding party at this fabulous venue.
The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The service was second to none
The varied food was extremely delicious and, despite having to provide for a large group, still served hot with great presentation.
Would not hesitate in recommending this vibrant public house to enjoy any celebration.

In the West Midlands we say "bostin", the Welsh might say "crackin". Don't know about down south but this was a proper Sunday roast dinner. Across the group we sampled pork, beef and chicken dinners but it was clean plates and full tummies all round, just enough room for a dessert of course.
Recommended. Good value.

We held our wedding here and it was the perfect venue. The staff are so gracious, helpful and friendly. From the wine tasting to our panic emails in the run up, they helped us with every step and met all our requests! We can't thank them enough for all their help and for hosting our special day with such care and thoughtfulness. They were so kind helping us set up and the room looked amazing. It's such a beautiful pub. All our guests commented on how good the food was, and the cocktails were especially loved! We just had the best day. Thank you so much The Londesborough! You were exceptional hosts!

We had our wedding reception at the Londesborough in May 2022 and cannot recommend this venue enough for a laidback, fun London wedding with delicious food and an amazing team. The team were super helpful in the run up to the wedding, answered hundreds of questions and gave us a lot of support and direction, which was much appreciated. Especially Amber was amazing - it almost felt like having an actual wedding planner! The space itself is lovely, and the team even took care of the set up on the day which was amazing. All our guests loved the venue and especially the food and the service. We are so pleased that we chose the Londesborough for our wedding and cannot recommend it enough.

I live very close to this pub, but haven’t really eaten in there. Today, I decided to try a meal using the governments 50% deal.
I checked whether the Londesborough was on the list of registered food suppliers and it was. So I took the plunge.
I order the meal the meal and was asked to pay full price. When I pointed out that the pub had signed up for the 50% scheme the bar tender said that they would only give you a 10% discount and if you spent over £100.
Even after been shown the government webpage he refused to accept that the scheme was for 50%.
Had he not already poured my drink, I would have left.
When I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was. Which is a bit worrying, considering he struggled to understand basic percentages.
I lost count of the people that were told that the discount didn’t apply.
It is really poor for the pub to apply for a scheme as a ruse to get people to return to their establishment .
I expected better.

We had our wedding reception at The Londesborough in March (pre-Lockdown) and couldn't have wished for a better (or easier) experience. We decided to book our reception here because we thought the food was amazing, and the pub looked great – contemporary and welcoming.
For a start, Amber was amazingly helpful when it came to planning the reception. She was always in touch via email and when we met to plan the day she covered all areas and a lot of stuff we hadn't thought of. Putting together menus and planning the running order of events was made simple.
The food was delicious, and everyone was delighted (many have since said that it's the best food they've ever had at a wedding). The service was brilliant, attentive but not intrusive. The staff were friendly and accommodating and were able to make some last minute amends to seating, help set up the cake on arrival, find a replacement wire for the DJ, etc. These were all things that helped the day run smoothly.
In short, the reception was everything we wanted. Everyone had a brilliant time and a great meal. Everything felt very relaxed and we could enjoy our day with everything flowing smoothly around us.
The top points for us were this: brilliant help and planning, delicious food that our guests loved, friendly staff and a great-looking pub (that honestly doesn't need much done to it to make it look special. It photographed great).
Thanks, Team Londesborough. Now that you're re-opening we look forward to dropping in for a drink!

Thanks to all the staff for hosting a great wedding lunch and party. As a non vegetarian, I was very surprised at the quality and selection of the food. I have never been to a wedding where you actually got a choice of starters and mains. My Asparagus starter was very good, but the main I chose of Nut Roast was divine, with a rich tasty gravy and perfect vegetable’s, what a treat. My last visit to this pub was over 40 years ago when I lived in the area, having such a great venue almost makes me want to move back to Stoke Newington! The party after the meal was well handled and nothing was ever a problem for any of the staff. Well done and I hope my next visit comes sooner than the last.
