I was there for lunch on the 23th. of December which could explain the lack of customers - and Cistomers to create an atmosphere is defrinately needed in an English pub. However. the fish and Chips was okay, even though the Chips certainly wasn´t "homecut" as promised. The service was fine and the prices ok. With the number of places... More

When visited The Duke and Duchess I was looking for a quirky, little back street pub and it was the spot on! It fitted perfectly - lovely service, nice atmosphere, not to crowded, fresh and outstanding food - it was all we needed. Later on we had few marvelous cocktails and ended up having Margaritas in the lower ground -... More

This is a great place for both lunch and dinner. I have the soup almost every day for lunch, it is most definitely my favourite! The staff there are very funny and helpful and have great banter! I love the place and would highly recommend!

Had the chicken and avocado salad which was a bit disappointing but had a nice and generous chocolate brownie with ice cream to compensate! Good for watching football as plenty of screens and not too busy

My wife and I found this pub more by chance and we were pleased we did. (It's close to St Paul's). It was their "Happy Hour" and so we had two excellent cocktails for the price of one, together with a small plate of cocktail sausages to share. The pub has a nice feel to it and also does main... We stopped here for lunch today. My wife had the fish and chips which she said was very good And I had the boar sausage with mash which I thought was excellent. Pleasant atmosphere, good music and very attentive service. We would go back again.

Fantastic place tucked away from ever busy St Paul's Cathedral. The pub serves all the hearty pub classics which are all very well prepared and delicious. Happy hour offers are great for the after works drinks too, keep it up!

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
