Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

WOW! I loved the Blue Lion; it was the perfect pub. The staff were accommodating and friendly. I hired a space for my friends for my 20th birthday. My theme was denim and navy, and the blue lion was an excellent fit. It also helps...that it was dreamily located between friends who lived locally and those arriving from around London, with Kings Cross nearby. The other pub merrymakers in the pub were nice and friendly, so lovely clientele too.More

It can often feel more of a dining pub than somewhere just for a drink, but even if you aren’t eating it’s still an enjoyable experience every time. Service is always efficient, there’s a relaxing atmosphere and a good range of seating depending on the...size of group you’re visiting with. Pleasant enough and I’ll be returning next time I’m passing.More

Dropped in for a pint & lunch during a visit to the nearby Postal Museum. An old Victorian Pub that has been modernised to some extent. Some banquette seating, quite a lot of wooden tables & chairs & the odd sofa make for a nice..., informal feel along with plenty of old 'photos on the walls & 2 open fireplaces, one of which hosted a blaze. Good choice of ales. Food was competitively priced. My soup was quite tasty & home made but a bit on the lukewarm side. All in all, nothing exceptional but perfectly reasonable & good, friendly service.More

We held our post wedding party at the Blue Lion and thoroughly enjoyed the premises, the bar and the facilities. The buffet was excellent and the staff totally on top of things. We would book it again in a heart beat.

Hired this lovely pub last weekend for a private event. Staff were wonderfully helpful and the buffet food was exceptional. We all had a great time and will definitely be back!

A group of 49 of us visited for lunch before going onto the nearby Postal Museum. The booking process was very straightforward and well-managed by Cheryl. On the day, we arrived a little early but staff were very accommodating and allowed us to take our...seats while they continued their preparations. The meal was excellent and reasonably priced. We were very well looked after and the service went without a hitch.More

Whilst in london for a few days i nipped in for a quick drink after work. I felt fine to sit there alone watching world go by. Staff friendly and chatty, but not too annoying like some places. Went in for 1 stayed for 3....All good cask beers even a pub own one. Could have had a few more options on menu but that's just cos I am picky. Will be going back.More

Came here for lunch during a busy day at work. Firstly, it took 25mins+ for the food to come out after ordering. When it came out it the chips were stone cold and the burgers just about lukewarm so we complained to a member of...staff, who was clearly very busy, and he said he would deal with it. 5-10 mins passed and we reluctantly ate our burgers, but didn't touch our cold chips as me and my friend were gonna have to head back to work, and didn't want to go back on an empty stomach. Then the member of staff comes back and says that we were only due a free round of drinks, which we had neither the time nor desire for. A table next to us suffered the same unfortunate bad service and were told the same as us. We asked to speak to the manager and both groups were told to send an email. We had just paid full price for a cold meal, I was extremely disappointed. Sent an email and now waiting for a reply - in the meantime I thought I'd share my experience. The only positive of the whole thing was the bartender who served us - he was very conscientious and I cannot say a bad word about him, which is the only thing keeping this review from being a 1/5.More

Food is enjoyable pub food, never going to set the world alight but does the job for a midweek working lunch. The pub often gets busy and there's the mews for outdoor drinking on Thursday and Friday nights, plus a pool table if you're feeling...competitive.More

The last time this pub had a refurb looks to be before the 1970s and probably earlier. This, however, is what gives it so much charm. The beer and food were good and the WiFi was free. There is a mixed range of pub food...and a good selection of real alesMore

Called in for lunch earlier this week after visiting the nearby Postal Museum and Underground. Good food and an excellent choice of beer. Had a pint of Cornish Coast. New to me but memorable for all the right reasons. citrus flavor and bitter. If in...the area again will give it a visit for an evening meal as menu looked really interesting. This is a fun pub with a friendly staff. It provided good pub food for something over 10 pounds a plate. As with most pubs, there was an ample amount of cold drinks, too. Be aware to check when they serve meals as the kitchen...closes between lunch and dinner for a few hours. When we arrived the first time, it was open for drinks, and they referred us to another a few blocks away. It was a good referral, and we appreciated it. The next evening we returned and our experience was all very good.More

Ordered the grilled halloumi sandwich. It was stone cold from the fridge and uncooked so sent it back. It came back grilled, but with my one bite still taken out of it, which wasn't very classy. This is still a nice enough place for drinks...and a game of pool though.More
