Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very disappointing. Travelled here with my 83 year old mother after searching for somewhere nice in the area for our London stay over for the Bank Holiday weekend. Received confirmation by both email and text. Arrived all dressed up and ready go to find the...place closed. Her limited mobility meant we couldn't easily travel elsewhere for our evening meal. Received a cancellation notice the following morning which had been sent at 18.42 for our 18.45 booking. Poor. Won't be recommending or using Open Table againMore

Week-day business lunch. Excellent rustic Italian food and wine, attentive service despite being very busy. Good atmosphere and friendly staff (particularly the older Italian chap who must be the owner/manager)

NOT WORTH ONE STAR!!!!! My son and I made the mistake of choosing this restaurant among the multitude of better choices in the immediate area! We were greeted politely and shown proficient service. We didn’t want cocktails or wine, just TAP water with our meal....(Traveling and just wanted a bit of lunch We were NOT told of the unbelievable COVER CHARGE OF 5 per person!!!! We rather chose our own tip not be told what to tip and really, 6 for tap water!? If this sad establishment wishes to be a posh 5* restaurant they may try NOT ripping off tourists! It’s unbelievable that they charged us just for sitting at their table, use of a napkin, and for a piece of bread! Sounds like a joke? The joke or shall I say SCAM was on us! I asked what a cover charge actually covers and was told sitting there, the napkins, table cloth, the bread, butter, olives, I wish this was not true but yes this pathetic restaurant charges customers to sit at their table!! I have been to more than 10 countries as well as the many states in the US and have dined in all sorts and styles of pubs restaurants and quaint diners and NEVER had I the disgraceful experience of being charged a 5. Per diner coverage charge!! We wanted a quick lunch, we were robbed with a smile instead! I don’t know of any other restaurant here in London, or any where else in the world for that matter that would stoop so low and cheaply to charge customers because they have to wash napkins and table cloths! I’m still shocked and disgusted by this! Seriously, what other restaurant in Europe North America the Caribbean islands does this!?!? None!! My son ordered a spaghetti dish and I ravioli. We expected, although extremely pricey, the bill to come to around 48.00. Remember this is a pasta lunch!!! We got the tab and was shocked to see they charged us Each for a cover charge A COVER CHARGE TO EAT AT THEIR RESTAURANT.NO WRITTEN OR VERBAL NOTICE WAS GIVEN!! 6. For TAP water! They also had the nerve (no surprise) to add their own gratuity! Have they no shame, self respect? Apparently no!! Why don’t the owners just get a bucket or top hat and start panhandling?! Actually they robbed us not begged ; I give more respect to beggars than thieves!! I suggest Giorgio Restaurant stop sliding in extra charges!! They saw two tourist coming a mile away and took advantage and our money. I don’t care if the Italian cuisine tastes like Heaven ( it doesn’t was average not spectacular) it should not cost a customer to sit at their table, be Charge 6. a bottle for lousy TAP water and add their tip!! Do NOT NOT NOT go to this place! There are so many more REASONABLE COMFORTABLE restaurants in the area! Normally run, professional restaurants welcome diners, and will allow you to sit and use utensils at no charge! Imagine that! (Sarcasm). Run away from Giorgios in Leadenhall Market unless you’re ok with spending 6. For tap water and being charged 5. for the use of their table, chair and napkin! Total 71.66 for two meatless pasta dishes 2 lousy TAP waters and 2 pieces of bread!! This restaurant should be EMBARRASSED!! Nothing posh about gouging tourists. Despicable! Owners, why not panhandle instead, it is more honorable than robbing patrons!!More

Very disapponted. My starter of bresaola was dry, the spaghetti a la vongole was good and to finish I ask for a Strega liquer. What I got was not a Strega, Strega being saffron in colour and not white. Overall, grossly over priced.

Yummy food, slightly overpriced and the menu a bit less versatile for veggies than ideal (especially as I am allergic to shellfish, it was hard to find dishes). Very attentive service. Lovely house wine. Great atmosphere

Following a business meeting I went with some colleagues to Giorgio’s and I’m really glad we did. This is just like being in a restaurant in Florence in terms of food quality and the madness an Italian restaurant brings. I had the crab linguine and...it was first class. Other meals had were the Veal Milanese, excellent, the Lamb with almond crust, and the one that caught my eye (and was gorgeous!) the slow roaster Pork belly. I’m taking the lady to London a bit before Christmas and I’ve booked us in, looking forward to it already!!More

My wife & I both love Italian food & when ever were in to town, we always pop in to Georgio for a Italian meal. Which for the quality & price is outstanding to say the least. Every dish was made from fresh ingredients &...the taste will take you back to Italy, if you’ve ever been there & the service is as good as the meal, which makes the whole experience even better. It’s in Leadenhall in door market & the nearest tube station is Fenchurch street. If you like Italian food, then Georgio will not let you or your taste buds down. I’ll be back.More

First class meal, all three of us had three courses and each dish was excellent. I had the scallops and the lobster linguine which was spot on. The tiramisu was also top notch. It was a Monday night so not many in but the staff...were excellent and made it a hospitable atmosphere, ideal for us to talk business.More

I say surprising because we were greeted by being told that they could not fit us in, so we turned to leave. Then we were told we could only have the table for an hour. We accepted this, but did feel pressurised to order very...quickly. It was not a nice, relaxing experience. But the food was very good. I had the crab pasta and it was memorable. Followed by an affogato which is my favourite desert. Perfect lunch, food-wise. Shame about the pressure.More

They fitted us in for an hours lunch but have never felt so rushed ever. Every 5 minutes someone came over asking were we ready to order either starters or mains. We were done in 30 minutes and even then were asked to finish our...drinks at the bar! Rude rude staff! Would never return!More

8 of us ate here recently and i am shocked so many TA reviews are so good. I'm not saying it is awful, the food was ok - maybe a 3 or 4. The staff too; but the decor is a 1 or 2 and...the prices are a zero. I know [post covid and it is London, but the prices are high, as were the drinks and service charge. I was shocked to be sharing a £900 bill. yes we have a few bottles of wine, but my mind was blown. i will give it a miss as the food and decor were poor. be carefulMore

Been here twice now on business meetings. I would never have picked it myself but my colleague said she really liked it. From the outside it’s a non descript doorway with stairs leading to a basement. I expected an old type Italian with average food,...but frankly I have now been blown away by the food on two occasions. The restaurant seems to be run by a few ‘old school’ (and I mean this in a good way, as in experienced at producing a quality product) Italian fellas and family/ long term employees who have clearly been in the restaurant game for a long time. This is a good thing as they are clearly pro and run a very slick operation. Sorry I know nothing of the background, but this is my observation. Service is excellent and the staff can have a bit of banter as well which is great, it feels like a very personalised experience. Food is outstanding. Whilst starters in particular are pricey, they are extremely good. There seems to be a specialism in fish and on one occasion I had the cod which was excellent. On the second occasion I took the waiter’s recommendation (well I asked him how good it was and he said he had put it down as my order - great bit of banter) of the veal Ravioli. My goodness that was absolutely amazing, 3 in the group had it and we all said the same. I would say it was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten anywhere. That’s saying something in over 40 years of eating in Italian restaurants the world over. It really was that good. It was a special and I’d love to order that every time I went. I have also had the scollop starter, again absolutely lovely. Cannot wait to go back! Well done,More
