We visited the crooked billet as a family after going for a walk in the park. We had taken our family's dash hound puppy for one of her first walks so we chose this pub because they allow dogs. It has a great atmosphere in there and seeing all the dogs, big and small in there just really warmed my... More

This is such a lovely local pub so it's a pity I had the worst Sunday lunch here recently. I should've sent it back but we were in a hurry. It was luke warm and tasted like it had been sitting under a warm grill for hours! I've never really had a great Sunday lunch here to be honest so... More

Last time I was in here, was circa 1999, and I decided to check out this venue, as the other Public House (several doors away), had very few tables available, both inside and out. Unquestionably, this place has changed, drastically, and they have done a great job with the alterations and up-grades. Spacious, and 'interesting', from an 'interior' perspective -... More

A busy bank holiday lunchtime, however table turnover was quite quick and a short wait secured a table for four. Food good & well presented. Service prompt & polite, but without that extra level of guest engagement for 5 stars.

Lamb Roast Angus Beef Roast Kids Fish fingers and chips The pub itself is beautiful and the staff is very kind and friendly, the food was average and looked more "warmed up" than freshly made, specially roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding...definitely warmed up. Pity.

Visited on Good Friday. Had not booked, but they were able to fit us in. Right from the start, one perceived the friendly atmosphere of the place. The predominantly young staff were helpful and the service was as efficient as one would expect in a fine dining restaurant. Customers have to order food at the bar. Not an issue as... More

This review must be prefaced by explaining my wife and I were late, although I did telephone ahead whilst sitting in a traffic jam explaining reasons for lateness and expected time of arrival. "No problem " was the reply, however our daughters and their children and partners did arrive within the 20 minute or so allowed after the booked time... More

Friends and I stumbled across this little gem whilst on an impromptu visit in to Wimbledon. Prices quite steep but after a thorough investigation of the Food menu we came across a bread board. Eight scrumptious isosceles triangular slices all for a £1. Yes a £1. Served with delicious lashings of margarine. I can't believe it's not butter! Presented beautifully... More

I have been here more than a few times with my friends in London in the past. Last week we enjoyed the nice pub dinner with them. Fish and chips were so good here. In the final round, we wound up the gathering with sweet wine from Chile and France.
