Love this place, especially upstairs. The seats upstairs are pews, or constructed similar to pews. You may actually miss that there are seats upstairs as much of the seating is outside. Really good for a rustic sandwich or as I often do, a pain au chocolate and a coffee to wind down / escape from things. Recommended if you just... More

We stopped off here for afternoon coffee and cake. It is right under the shadow of the cathedral at the back and so affords an excellent setting. Coffee and cake was good so I'm happy to recommend.

Used PAUL in may places around Europe - this one is no different, they have a good understanding of the products they serve, particularly coffee and vienoiserie - it is easily the best coffee stop option in the StPaul's immediate area

PAUL chain tea rooms always have a great standard of food and drinks - including a great hot choc! Came woth family and understaffed - no seats inside and outside pigeons eating on tables not cleaned up :(

Went by to grab a mozzarella and tomato sandwich. The bread was nice and crispy, sandwich itself was full of tastes. So, it was all good. But, salad was worn off, perhaps because of it was 4pm. So, it was not fresh, but probably made in the morning. Staff had conversation with each other, so there was no smiles, they... More

This place is part of a chain of bakeries popular in France. We bought baguettes from their bakery when we were in Paris so we were excited to find them during our lunch break from our London city tour. The Quiche Loraine and Salad Nicoise were good. Service was quick and friendly.

Rude arrogant and unpleasant customer service, may be due to this being a tourist hotspot, don't expect pleasant conversation or any form of Individual attention

this is such a reliable great place for a quick bite or a breakfast. They always have lovely fresh desserts and pastries. Their strawberry parfait was out of this world. We stopped there on the way to the other sightseeing places we had outlined for the day. Service was prompt and courteous. There were plenty of tables plus alfresco dining... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
