The worst managers in the world absolutely disgraceful service. Very very rude. So many friendly places elsewhere

Awful. Manager more interested in chatting to her friends rather than managing an inexperienced staff. Strarters poor and over priced and it went downhill from there. Fish over cooked and flavourless and missing ingredients described on the menu. Soggy sourdough with limited charcuterie. Overcooked burger Stick to the beer

This is a gastropub type establishment ie better than average pub food (which it is). Good service, nice atmosphere, clean and pleasant. I went with my middle son (and his girlfriend), who lives locally, to watch the Eng v Scot game a couple of weeks ago. A good table, plenty of banter from an eclectic crew at the bar, and... More

We randomly came across this spot on a recent visit to london! Loved it! Fab staff, yummy food and great atmosphere. Not crazy expensive. Lovely cosy spot. The burger was absolutely delicious! And the cheese... well!! I look forward to going back!

For the last couple of years, I've been meeting some friends here for a monthly drink. I can't comment on the food, but we all noticed how beer prices had crept up, and how the level of basic service has deteriorated. Some suggestions : Please ask politely when you want to mark a table for a later dinner reservation (which... More

I normally swerve Youngs pub as expensive and corporate, but this place is a beauty. Had a meal with mates last Friday night. Groaned inwardly when saw it was Youngs pub in Chelseabut was so pleasantly surprised. Normally you get overcharged and under measured. This couldn't have been more different, excellent food, excellent beer, properly poured by friendly staff. Had... More

I have been to this pub several times before but i think they must have changed the staff over recently. I went last Sunday for a birthday lunch with a group of friends. When our food eventually came they had messed up the order, which is fine it happens. We had several items of food come out of the kitchen... More

We fell into this pub around 1pm Sunday lunchtime, tired and hungry. It was very quiet and we were asked if we had booked ! 15 Minutes later we knew why, it was filling up fast. We ordered three adult meals and a child portion of fish and chips. My husband gave the beef roast a huge thumbs up, my... More

This is a modern British pub with all the quality and style that you would expect in Kensington, coupled with the comfort, delightful look and fine, fresh food that are synonymous with the quintessential Geronimo pub. Perfectly set in the oldest licensed building on Old Brompton Road, The Duke of Clarence was previously more renowned in the area for its brunch, burgers and bonhomie. However, it has now also gained an impressive reputation for the extensive wine list, selected by John Clevely and featuring everything from smooth classic reds to aromatic whites. Alongside a great range of beers, The Duke of Clarence can certainly satisfy the demanding residents of Kensington and beyond. Whether it's to watch the sport of the day or just watch the world pass by through the huge open windows, this is a superb spot for both stylish diners and drinkers.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
