Undoubtedly the best dim sum I've had. Cool vibe and good music. I always look forward to Opium. The spicy duck dumplings are fantastic.

Whatever I say about this place will be slightly clouded by the bill I received at the end of a fun evening .. m price conscious like that !! But in all honesty, it's nice cosy little place for 3 floors of seating, great music - especially for those still in love with 70s, 80s and 90s Lovely cocktails -... More

I came here as single traveler, I was looking for something a little different than the standard Asian restaurant in London's China town, the bad experience started when the door man asked if I wanted to eat there or next door at a larger cookie cutter restaurant. Once I was sat at the bar I order one extremely overpriced drink,... More

My husband booked this for Saturday, the reviews looked good and it was something different from the normal bars we would go to. On arrival your greeted by a doorman who explains the bar is 2 floors up and then he radios up to tell them your coming. Very dark very dingy really not nice, strange decor. We were shown... More

That is definitely not a regular bar, it has its own charm and people who visit it. The cocktails were good. Worth seeing :)

Pricey cocktails, couldn't drink too much as two flights of stairs in the dark not safe! Bit like sitting in a 60's living room. Sorry, can't see what other reviewers are enjoying about this bar.

Friday night, we were a pre-theatre cocktail with dim sum platter pair- lovely cocktail, good dim sum but the business side was really evident and I felt 'moved on'. When paying these prices please let my partner finish what he is saying before you swoop in with bill and card reader. We were at the bar so not hogging a... More

Visited here on Saturday. Can't praise enough. The dim sum is out of this world, cocktails great and staff happy to mix one to your taste which I loved. Staff very friendly and helpful. Music was good and a great atmosphere. Only criticism would be ladies toilet but messy. Still overall 5.

Not another Chinese restaurant, but a nice chill out bar. Wonderful cocktails to enjoy with some dim sum. As in most of London downtown you should book in advance

One of the best concept bars I've ever been to. Hidden in Chinatown, the concept of dim sum with wonderful cocktails served in teapots is great. Everything delicious. Great staff. I'll be back soon!

Opium is set in a townhouse behind a secret jade door. Sprawling over three floors with views that take in Chinatown below, Opium is heavily Chinese influenced and themed, in the ingredients and flavours found throughout the cocktail list, the dim sum menu and tea offering. The décor is a mixture of both rough and luxe, and antique and modern, spanning time and style from all over China. The attic area has an open-kitchen style bar where guests get involved in the theatre of drinks-making.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
