What a fab little pub. Had the feel of a quaint old country pub when we walked in, yet it's only 10 minute walk from russell square underground station. We had booked the use of their private room upstairs for a works reunion. There were at least 40 of us & we fitted comfortably up there. The staff behind the... More

Found this pub as i was wandering around London, they had a Thai menu with some English food also, I went for the Thai green Curry and it was very well presented and tasted fantastic and even had a good kick to it. The beer had a very crisp fresh tatse so clearly the barrel lines are well looked after... More

15+ years ago there was a trend for pubs in London to serve Thai food. As happens, the idea died away -- and pubs decided to serve tradition English dishes. But the Rugby has recently brought back Thai food. It's welcome in the neighbourhood, because it's some distance down to Red Lion Street to encounter anything similar. Variety is the... More

This is a more old school style pub, but it has a decent outdoor area just off the main street. I haven't eaten here, but I believe they do food.

Not strictly true, but having ordered 2 pints and being given 1 and a half, because they 'don't know how to change it' I was mildly surprised. Actually it's dreadful. If your bar staff cannot change a barrel then perhaps they should be restricted to wiping tables and washing dishes. Thankfully, just before I passed out, a charming woman arrived... More

I popped in today for a quite pint. The pub is lovely with traditional decor but the staff were unbelievable!! There was an argument amongst the barstaff in which pot shots were thrown, not a way you would expect staff to conduct themselves.not a manager in sight to sort things out, resulting in the police being called. I would avoid the pub... More

Was strolling round lambs conduit street on the queens birthday street party and came across this pub down a residential side street. Really friendly people running a traditional pub with a mixture of locals and visitors. Had one of the best pints of Guinness I've had in ages. Didn't try the food but will next time. Had some rather appetising... More

I briefly popped in on Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming the staff were, it had a country locals pub feel to it (in a good way) and this is a rare thing in Zone 1. Bartender knocked up a very delicious (and very spicy) bloody mary. Ended up chatting with the guy and girl behind the... More

Have always liked this pub. A real gem in holborn. Good old fashioned pub. Brass fittings, proper bar with a proper feel to it. Beer is always good as you would expect from a good brewery. Went in before and had a scummy burger. 2 burgers in a bun with cheese and bacon. But, this time was different the burger... More
