Most bar pumps are Eurofizz, poor selection of any real beer. Spacious, comfortable and no loud music, which was nice. Staff were quite friendly. Just under £10 for a pint and a medium glass of wine.

Stopped here as it's off the main track so fairly quiet except for the two builders who insisted on shouting obscenities down their phones. Pleasant staff and cheap lunch menu. Toilets, as usual left a lot to be desired.

Stumbled on this pub while exploring a side turning off the Strand, it seems a good strategy because we got a warm welcome, a decent pint and all cheaper than the Wetherspoons at Trafalgar Square. Roomy, well lit space that gets packed by office workers but well worth a visit. Didn't have food but the menu of pubs grub looked... More

I visited the pub a few days before Christmas. Jay the landlord and the bar man Danny were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Had a last minute Christmas booking after other pubs in Charing Cross let us down, but walked straight into the theodore and got a very warm welcome from Jay and Liam who then sorted everything out for us! The food was lovely and accompanied by a great atmosphere. We were very well looked after by the boys - brilliant day... More

Very casual, comfortable and not overcrowded. Food nice as pub grub goes - reasonably priced and good portions.

Just a few minutes from trafalgar square this simple put was very affordable Good selection of beers including a house ale The menu is simple pub fayre but came in good time and was all well done - except for the batter on my fish chips which was simply weird and vaguely sponge like!

Visited this pub on a Saturday early evening with a large group. The staff are all very welcoming, there is a large selection of quality real ales and lagers and the food is well cooked and well presented. The whole is very good value and a genuinely happy surprise for all of us. It is so close to the beaten... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
