Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I've been eating at Agra for a long time - not so frequently recently - but getting on for 25 years overall. The shape and size of the place has altered over time, the decor's changed a bit, but it's the same family running an honest, old school Indian restaurant. And, for me, old school is a really good thing. I don't stray too much from my regular dishes, and I didn't this time. Seekh Kebab (as per the neon sign in the window). Followed that with Dhal and an egg Paratha (off-menu, the egg Paratha, but if you ask nicely...). Agra is a comforting and completely reliable place for great value curry, kebabs and everything else you expect on a traditional London 'curry house' menu. I haven't stopped recommending Agra for 20 years and I found no reason to stop recommending it in future. It's on of London's genuine best kept secrets.

A great 'find' for us! Authentic Indian restaurant, no 'airs and graces', just excellent food, served quickly, reasonably priced and brilliant service from Taj (aka 'Memory Man'!) and his lovely wife. So good the first night we had to return the next night and it was equally as good! Thank you!

I am not, or at least before I went, was not a fan of Indian Food. Well that's because I really hadn't had authentic Indian food. This place is that! The owner, who has been there for over 35 years, comes out and talks to us and finds out what we like, etc. Then helped direct us to dishes he thought we would enjoy. 1000% nailed it! My wife had the Chicken Marsala medium spiced and I had the Lamb Saag (I think) with spinach, mildly spiced. They were both amazing! The naan was also outstanding! We enjoyed it so much we came back another time before leaving from vacation. It is a quiet family run business just a block off off Tottenham Court Rd, 2 mins from Warren Street station. Worth the trip!

A really nice restaurant which I've visited numerous times previously. However the prices seem to increase every time we go.
We were seated quickly. we ordreed two starters which were delicious but tiny in size. We ordered one main course between us which, to be absolutely fair, was probably more than enough for a single person and just about enough for 2. However the 2 starters and one main course, plus various ancillaries came to over £35. I also noticed that they have started putting a 12.5% service charge on the receipt. I can't complain because service is excellent, however it's still nice to have the option rather than have it automatically added.
In short - great service, delicious food, a bit pricey for tight-fisted Northerners!

I ate here without booking. The upstairs restaurant is relatively small so I got a table downstairs which is not the best ib appearance as some things stored there. Still OK and the service was good, the food tasted good and was provided quickly. Good price for London, 2 poppadoms plus dips. Chicken dansak (tasted really nice) plus rice and a 660ml cobra beer came to £27. This included a 12.5% service charge, standard fir London, so don't tip twice. I would recommend.

One of the best Indian meals I've ever had, the service was friendly and helpful, seating is longish tables, so you may meet some new people! The dishes were delicious, serving size was generous but reasonable, everything was absolutely excellent. Wine and beer are on the menu. So good, we went back for another dinner!

Happened to come here by chance while on vacation, and I’m so glad we did. This was an incredible experience and some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The couple who runs/owns this restaurant are incredibly kind and also very helpful with ordering. I wish I lived nearby because I’d go back weekly!

So great that the Agra just keeps going turning out totally delicious (classic Anglo-Indian) food. So many brilliant things to eat, but have to give a shout out to the chicken tikka and the lamb methi - they are just the best.
It is just as unassuming as it always was (no airs and graces) but the welcome is always warm, and the food is good for the soul.

A nice, no frills setting. Intimate, low-key restaurant with very good service and very nice waiters. The naan was fabulous. Cooked perfectly with a great flavour. The chicken in the two mains were incredibly tender pieces of white meat that were cooked perfectly. Could not be better. HOWEVER, the sauce (which was just okay) of the chicken saag was almost crunchy from undercooked spinach, and lacked seasoning. But the WORST thing was the butter chicken. In my opinion, it was truly INEDIBLE. It tasted like nothing but old butter. Almost rancid or something. No spices, no seasoning, no nothing. I really wish it was better because they were so nice, but it was really a giant disappointment. I would never return. Now, in fairness, we only had those two mains. Maybe other dishes are better, but I would be worried.

We happened to go to this restaurant for dinner because we had a hotel nearby. We love Indian food and loved the food.
If you love spicy food, be sure to try the Naga lamb curry. But be warned, it's not for the faint of heart.

Everything near me was closed, so my friends and I walked into Agra within 1 hour of closing. We were welcomed immediately and took a seat. It has a very family-oriented restaurant vibe- very casual and relaxed. We ordered the chicken curry, butter chicken, garlic naan, vegetable samosas, and more. We were taken aback by how FABULOUS the food is! It was so fresh, authentic, and delicious! We will be back very soon for more amazing Indian cuisine!

We’ve used the Agra before when we’ve stayed in Fitzrovia but not for a few years. In the past we’ve enjoyed the excellent cuisine and friendly service and we weren’t disappointed this time. There’s a wide range of typical dishes, well cooked and speedily served. This is a family run modest little place; quite a rarity for central London so don’t expect designer decor but do expect good food at reasonable prices.

The best dinner in Mayfair (in a low-cost category). The delicious and authentic Indian cuisine (if you don’t like spicy food ask a waiter to make it less hot). The staff was very polite and friendly. We’ll come back soon ❤️

A small establishment serving lovely curries. The food was authentic and beautifully spiced. Ingredients were fresh and was delighted to find fresh coriander in my food and whole cardamoms. The real star was the wonderful host. She was so warm and welcoming and friendly. Would recommend. Good value for money

The Agra is the best Indian food I have found in London. The restaurant is a good, traditional Indian restaurant owned and managed by a lovely couple who provide excellent service and a warm, friendly greeting on arrival.
The food is superb, well-priced and caters to all tastes with a variety of levels of spice.
I cannot recommend this restaurant more warmly and I am a long-term fan having been a customer over the last 5 years
