Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really nice restaurant which I've visited numerous times previously. However the prices seem to increase every time we go. We were seated quickly. we ordreed two starters which were delicious but tiny in size. We ordered one main course between us which, to be...absolutely fair, was probably more than enough for a single person and just about enough for 2. However the 2 starters and one main course, plus various ancillaries came to over £35. I also noticed that they have started putting a 12.5% service charge on the receipt. I can't complain because service is excellent, however it's still nice to have the option rather than have it automatically added. In short - great service, delicious food, a bit pricey for tight-fisted Northerners!More

I've been eating at Agra for a long time - not so frequently recently - but getting on for 25 years overall. The shape and size of the place has altered over time, the decor's changed a bit, but it's the same family running an...honest, old school Indian restaurant. And, for me, old school is a really good thing. I don't stray too much from my regular dishes, and I didn't this time. Seekh Kebab (as per the neon sign in the window). Followed that with Dhal and an egg Paratha (off-menu, the egg Paratha, but if you ask nicely...). Agra is a comforting and completely reliable place for great value curry, kebabs and everything else you expect on a traditional London 'curry house' menu. I haven't stopped recommending Agra for 20 years and I found no reason to stop recommending it in future. It's on of London's genuine best kept secrets.More

A night to forget. Starters were decent but it ends there. We had four main courses, all were using seemingly cheap cuts of stringy meat and thigh meat, no breast to be found. Gristle in the chicken, a mix up mains, a strange taste to...the sauces. All in all, we just left our meals barely touched. Even with the mix up on order, there was no offer of a refund for any part of the dishes, indeed we were gifted a service charge on the bill for our troubles! Never again.More

Happened to come here by chance while on vacation, and I’m so glad we did. This was an incredible experience and some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The couple who runs/owns this restaurant are incredibly kind and also very helpful with ordering....I wish I lived nearby because I’d go back weekly!More

Ordinary Indian food of a North Indian cuisine style. Dilapidated setting that desperately needs renovation. Staff were friendly

Everything near me was closed, so my friends and I walked into Agra within 1 hour of closing. We were welcomed immediately and took a seat. It has a very family-oriented restaurant vibe- very casual and relaxed. We ordered the chicken curry, butter chicken, garlic...naan, vegetable samosas, and more. We were taken aback by how FABULOUS the food is! It was so fresh, authentic, and delicious! We will be back very soon for more amazing Indian cuisine!More

Vintage is the only plus of this place. Service is decent, the quality of the food is at best average. They are piggy backing on the vintage factor and let the food be second tier. Very flexible. The 2 stars is for the service.

A great 'find' for us! Authentic Indian restaurant, no 'airs and graces', just excellent food, served quickly, reasonably priced and brilliant service from Taj (aka 'Memory Man'!) and his lovely wife. So good the first night we had to return the next night and it...was equally as good! Thank you!More

We were recommended this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. It was fairly quiet, but a number of regulars were there. We had chicken tikka, samosas and onion bhaji to start. All delicious but the chicken tikka was excellent- moist and full of flavour. Wen then...had the kurma, chick sag and the jalfrezi. They were excellent especially the sag. Lovely friendly hosts. It’s no wonder they have been here for over 50 years.More

I ate here without booking. The upstairs restaurant is relatively small so I got a table downstairs which is not the best ib appearance as some things stored there. Still OK and the service was good, the food tasted good and was provided quickly. Good...price for London, 2 poppadoms plus dips. Chicken dansak (tasted really nice) plus rice and a 660ml cobra beer came to £27. This included a 12.5% service charge, standard fir London, so don't tip twice. I would recommend.More

I ordered King Prawn Kahrai and they served me shrimps. Also when I wanted the curry to be extra hot, it was made sweet. Like....who adds sugar to a curry?? And where are the king prawns??

Very nice food and great service. Had naga lamb which was nice and spicy, also a very tasty biryani. The restaurant itself is quite dated but that was also part of the charm.

Had a takeaway for the second time and enjoyed one of the best curries in ages. Tastes and quality were excellent. The Biryani had a very good side vegetable dish and the bindi was very good too. Staff polite and pleasant. I would certainly like...to eat there on a future visit to London.More
