This establishment is close to Burrough Market. We weren't hungry - but, people next to us stated that the fish and chips were good (they looked good). If the day is nice, relax at the outdoors patio and watch the river go by.

We stoped here for lunch while strolling along the South Bank. We dined at their outside bar (riverside). You placed your food order at the bar and when it was ready they brought it to your table. The food was delicious and the view of...More

The food was OK, reasonably priced for been positioned on the River in central London. Drink prices acceptable however have to say the customer service was excellent. Had some lost property which they found and returned to us in a very helpful manner.

The food was ordinary but the drinks were extremely overpriced compared to other pubs throughout England. They also don't include prices on the menu for drinks so you are surprised when you pay. Large and good atmosphere but wouldn't come back because of the price.

The ambiance and the terrace seating arrangement dragged us inside. The drinks are a bit expensive but enjoyable. It looks quite old with a wide range of drink choices.

Staying at The Premier Inn that is associated with the pub. Not surprisingly ended up back here at the end of every day out in London. Can get very busy but the premises are atmospheric and full of character. If timed right get free entertainment...More

We were staying at the Premier Inn right next door and had breakfast here which was very good and worth booking in advance when you make your room reservation. This pub is always busy as it's in such a good tourist spot but on a...More

We visited the Anchor on a Sunday afternoon. The place looked so lovely - we just had to check it out. We were certainly not dissapointed: good selection of beers and good food in genuine English surroundings. (The vegeterian "fish" and chips - with halloumi...More

February and it was snowing and howling a gale across the Thames. We found a table and had the fish and chips and a glass of beer. The food and the beer were excellent. This is a very old traditional pub, with polished oak floors...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
