Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came on the 27th of August around 3:15pm to eat some scones. The food was really good. However, I wasn't well received, as I said Hello (like a polite human), the waitress laught at me with her colleague. She said "sorry" but I was...feeling really uncomfortable. I still had food there but I regret not to have left. The experience I had wasn't what I expected because of the poor customer service at this specific time.More

This is our go to place whenever we’re down Columbia flower market. Friendly service, home made cakes and not over priced.

Don’t recommend going, at all. There’s tons of other (friendlier) places in this street. Had an okay experience at first, but unfortunately ruined by what appeared to be the manager/owner. Commented on my “wow” to the food by saying “you aren’t dramatic at all!”, which...I found absolutely unprofessional. All around bad vibes from her, and then proceeded to tell us to leave, politely but passive aggressively, stating other people might need the table when the cafe was completely empty. Heard her say it to other tables before us as well, so our experience wasn’t unique. Iced coffee was good, carrot cake not so much. It’s quite unfortunate, but this experience ruined my day.More

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Cake Hole on Saturday for my sister’s hen. When we arrived Louise has decorated the tables beautifully with fresh flowers, vintage crockery and balloons. Louise went out of her way to help me organise the tea before we...arrived and her and Mark could not have been more lovely on the day. The cakes were absolutely gorgeous and we had goodie bags to take away with the leftovers!! A little browse in the shop on the way out is a must, they have the most beautiful things. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an afternoon tea in London.More

The place looked beautiful decked out in flowers and balloons, service was fantastic and the cakes!!!! As a vegan I'm not used to having so much choice, a member of our party who was celiac was equally well catered for. Thank you Louise, for being...so accommodating and putting in so much effort. I would 100 per cent recommend.More

The perfect venue for a bridal afternoon tea party, Louise was beyond helpful and went to such great lengths to ensure the party was a great success. I could not have pulled off the impossible without her and if you are trying to find somewhere...everyone will enjoy themselves, the Cake Hole Cafe tucked at the back of Vintage Heaven will answer all your prayers! With delicious fresh cakes, vintage teacups galore, picture perfect table settings and more importantly a hostess whose attention to detail and generosity ensure a memorable occasion, I have recommended it to all my friends as a hidden East End gem! A huge thank you again to Louise and Mark for all their help.More

This is an absolute treat away from the hustle and bustle of Columbia Road. A lovely selection of homemade cakes and sweet treats including some vegan options. Prices are all very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food and service. The cafe is in...the back of a vintage shop so the surroundings are quirky. A reallly enjoyable refreshment stop.More
