I was staying for one night at Accommodation London Bridge which is less than one minute’s walk away. I had read some reviews for The Roebuck before arriving and decided to go for my evening meal. When I first entered I ordered a drink and there wasn’t a free table apart from a large round one with eight seats. As... More

We booked the upstairs room for our Engagement drinks on the evening of Saturday 25th February. We found them to be very professional in their dealings with us, typified by their manager Sadie. When we arrived half an hour before the booking the room was already set up where Sadie helped us put up our decorations, as well as starting... More

The Roebuck stands out for several reasons. First the atmosphere. Rather than having music blaring so loud you can't think, the Roebuck keeps things at an appropriate level so you can actually have a conversation. Second, movie night! It's great fun when you get to see a classic movie at at nice bar!

Good food. Much better than the average food you find in pubs, good beers and good wines. Bartenders are really nice and wholehearted. Really nice place. That's why we came back 4 other times to eat there during our stay in London.

Overall the Roebuck is ok for a lunchtime or evening drink, but the food is disappointing. Handcooked chips were under-done, the food is served on plates the size of saucers and don't order the profiteroles!! 25 min wait for 'fresh' profiteroles that are cold, burnt and covered in bleach flavoured chocolate sauce. Yummy.

Hi Lisa, Sorry you had a less than great experience here at The Roebuck. We are always striving to keep our customers happy, and part of that is listening and acting on customer feedback. I have spoken with our head chef and the profiteroles will no longer be on the menu and I have sent the fryer off for repairs.... More

Nice local pub, good beer and lovely staff. Used to be my local when living in the area, very lovely atmosphere especially in the summer. Very nice!

This lovely little pub is comfortable and inviting. Huge selection of board games and craft beers on draft.

Nice airy pub in town drinks were fine, made the mistake of ordering a burger which was pretty poor largely due to how it was presented and served. There is a reason why people don't make carrot chutney is because in reality smeared on a burger it's pretty disgusting and is the joint worse thing I have had served on... More

Good looking old pub, nice range of drinks and plenty going on throughout the week. The only thing that lets it down is the menu. It's overpriced and a bit too full of the chefs attitude, instead of good pub food done well they offer dishes which are a bit too fancy for this sort of venue and consequently the... More

Description
The Roebuck could well be one of Borough's best kept secrets. Independently owned and loved by the locals, The Roebuck offers a broad selection of beers and ales from around the world, a freshly prepared menu full of locally sourced produce, an easy going atmosphere and a friendly welcome as standard.Tucked away at the leafier end of Great Dover Street, The Roebuck balances being a little bit off the beaten track with being incredibly easy to get to: Borough tube is less than a five minutes stroll away, whilst a ten minute quickstep brings you from either Elephant & Castle or London Bridge.Built to imposing Victorian proportions, the large, airy pub boasts an incredible upstairs lounge, packed with period fixtures and an indeterminate charm. The Roebuck holds a pub quiz every Tuesday, Bang Said the Gun stand up poetry every Thursday and serve food everyday. As the saying goes, 'whatever grows together, goes together'. Over the years the Roebuck have built meaningful & productive relationships with our suppliers to create a seasonally changing menu which is both sourced locally and concentrates on sustainability. The majority of our meat is supplied by Gill Wing, an organic free range farm in Eridge, Sussex, less than an hour away from Borough. The remainder is from The Butchers Block, just a short cycle away from our pub.We serve truly traditional pub grub, scrumptious desserts and Sunday roast with all the trimmings.Kitchen Opening Hours:Monday - Friday : 12pm - 2.30pm and 5pm - 10pmSaturday : 12pm - 4pm and 5pm - 10pmSunday: 12pm - 9pmTo book a table or reserve an area for your party and function please call us.
