Service friendly and accommodating. The waiters took time to explain the dishes and we didn't feel rushed. The choice of food was interestingly varied, snails, duck hearts and rabbit, but if these don't appeal, don't be put you off, as standard, tasty and well cooked...More

We had terrible service and ordinary at best food at the Anchor and hope today - I would not recommend a visit. When we complained to the management, out feedback was met with scorn and disinterest. Poor poor quality.

One of the original London gastric pubs and still one of the best. Good though not adventurous beers and wine. Dining room has atmosphere, a good menu and fantastically cooked fish. And - for London - reasonable prices. Recommended for pre-theatre.

While not what I would call a Local, despite earlier posts, the owners appear to have tried to make this a trendy restaurant that also has a reasonable bar. We didn't Earp there (trendy priced), but did have a few drinks there. Quite reasonable, but...More

Helped along by quite a few bottles of white, a beautiful sunny day and good company. Food itself was perfectly good, but unremarkable. Service fair.

We were taken here by friends who live in London. It was quieter than expected on a Friday night--good for us! The food and the wine were both delicious. Four of us shared two chicken pies. They were absolutely scrumptious-and we had a bit left...More
