I wanted a gasto pub serving decent English fare to treat a US colleague visiting the UK for the first time. The Anchor and Hope came up trumps. We shared crab toast and beetroots, blood oranges, mint, goat’s cheese and olive crumbs to start. Both...More

This place is very popular considering the fact that on a weekday at 9 pm, we couldn't get a table for 2. But they accommodated us at the bar until a table became available. However they do tend to accommodate large groups of different sizes...More

can't fault the food- decent comfort food, generous portions, and nicely presented. service can be haphazard but that's because London pub customer service is generally poor, with untrained staff, compared to other countries esp Ireland where pub service is a proper trade. it is a...More

Have visited several times now since being introduced by foodie friends - proper interesting food and a proper pub - very handy for Waterloo, Old & New Vic

No reservation for party of 4. Refused a copy of the menu at 11.00. Loud music not able to be changed or turned down because it's "for the staff". Very overpriced for what it is. Awful atmosphere.

The food is exquisite, the service is great and the atmosphere is fun. A true gastronomic pub and Gambi is a true gem/hostess.

We ate here on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Although it looked full we were squeezed onto a table. The staff, although obviously run off their feet, were lovely. We skipped a starter and went straight for the suet crust beef pie, with aside of cabbage....More

Went with some friends on a recent evening, was seated fairly quickly despite it being busy. However, the service flip flopped from one pleasant waitress to a downright hostile member of staff who threw down cutlery and failed to return with drinks orders. The food...More
