Our first impression on arrival was two rather surly doormen, not the smiley face of hospitality. There was confusion on our restaurant booking, the staff were unclear, and we were seated in the main drinking area. Incredibly noisy, overly busy; we left.

No seriously, do bring earplugs. Great if you don't like your friends and don't particularly enjoy talking to them either.

How can a night with Beer, Sausage and Schnapps go wrong. This place gets majorly busy. Make sure you hold a table and stick to it. Love love love this place.

Dreadful place . About as German as Big Ben. No atmosphere. Beer fizzy. Food overpriced and obviously cooked by non- German. Came all the way from Bedfordshire . Wish I never bothered.

If you want to have the German style 1L beer mugs and have a good time, thats the place. Food is mediocre and only for the ones who are desperate for German food. Average age was probably 23, so thats the crowd to expect. Service...More

Spent an evening here with a couple of friends, drinking and eating. The beer and schnapps are good. Food was ok, but starters and mains came out together, which was a bit dumb. But the noise!! We were almost shouting at each other to be...More

Been here 3 times with different groups, and each time I've been everyone has a great time. The Oompah band are always a hit, covering modern and classic hits. Beer is always great, slightly overpriced, but you are right by London Bridge and they sell...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

Located in Borough Market, Katzenjammers is a stunning modernist take on a traditional Bavarian Bierkeller. We have recently extended into our basement creating a beautiful new Bierhall which allows us to seat a further 240 of our fabulous customers and provides a stage so everyone gets a great view of our now legendary Oom-Pah bands. Whether you're dining in the upstairs Bierkeller with its extensive Bavarian menu or partying down in the Bierhall with it's stunning new sausage bar, you'll never go hungry. The vast majority of our menu is sourced fresh from Bavaria every week by the German chefs who helped us create our menu. The atmosphere in both our Restaurant and Bierhall is like no other - an incredible experience that cannot be missed!
