Discovered this gem of a cafe by chance at the end of our stay in Crystal Palace. Very warm and hospitable welcome and fabulous fairly priced food. Attention to detail throughout with outstanding cleanliness in washrooms. We will return!
Cafe St Germain is one of my recent finds in Crystal Palace and I have no cause for complaint. On the contrary. I have had their mushroom omelette a couple of times and recently their eggs Benedict. I could not fault them. The atmosphere is...old fashioned French. The staff is super friendly. Prices are fair. For these ,this place is well above the more trendy places in the neighborhood.More
I am 6 and I am writing a review about this cafe for one of my homeworks this term. When I went to this cafe I had lunch which was a cheese sandwich, but it was lunch before 12 o’clock! And my daddy had a...vegetarian breakfast. My toy giraffe had some of my daddy’s bread and some of my bread, and she sat on the windowsill. The bread in my sandwich was soft, but the cheese was hard and it nearly made my teeth fall out because I have two very very wobbly teeth! My sandwich tasted excellent. My daddy said his breakfast was very nice, he had lots of baked beans, scrambled egg and mushrooms as well as a hash brown and a vegetarian sausage. He also had some bread and butter, and I put one of the blocks of butter in my sandwich, and I squished it so that all the butter was squished. My daddy thought that was horrible, but it wasn’t. I had apple juice, it was very very good apple juice! My daddy had a coffee because my toy forced him too 😂 We sat inside because it was cosy inside. We sat by the window and we were talking about buses that we saw. I would recommended that my friends come here, and also you come!More
I have coffee from here every week. Lovely coffee, helpful, friendly and polite staff. Good value. And they always remember me 👍
Stayed at the nearby Caravan site and having been to Lorenzoes the night before (excellent meat there) and being informed that St Germain was also there's we decided to have lunch here. We love France and really enjoy our lunchtime cafe trips. Straight away on...entering you get that French Cafe feel, it really looks like you're in France. Service was superb, very friendly staff. My wife had Croque Madame and I had Baguette Alsacienne (I think?), it was a warm baguette, frankfurter, cheddar and special tomatoes sauce all gloriously melted. It was lovely as was the Madame. I had a couple of continental beers. Sardines and frites seemed to be very popular. Our waitress and chef were very nice and warming. I'll definitely be back here if I'm back here😊😉More
Close to the bus station and the park, the interior actually does remind me of Paris (with two Eiffel Towers a short walk away in the form of the giant TV masts on the crest of the hill!). Service was efficient and pleasant.
We ate here each morning before plunging into London. The service was quick and polite, the food equally arrived swiftly and was tasty, well-presented and hot, and the decor was pretty. All in all I would definitely come back.
Initially we had booked a table online but it wasn’t really necessary as there were a handful of tables available and we managed to get a spot outside which was lovely. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, they didn’t have a kids menu which...I was confused about as I had seen one online but they were more than happy to make a smaller omelette for my daughter. The coffee is exceptional, really amazing quality. The food was great and there’s more than enough selection to please everyone. I was very happy with the prices, brunch for the 3 of us came to around £40 and that was with main dishes, drinks and sweet treats to finish! Will definitely be returning here!More
Extremely disappointed to be served their 'fries' which looked and tasted just like cheap oven chips (which I could have bought in a supermarket). And served with a very small and tasteless disappointing 'chef's' omelette. The banana banofee pudding was a tiny ice cream in...a cup, with some sprinkles on the top - nothing to do with the expected famous banofee tart. Even worse was the price of it all - extremely high for such a poor meal. Plus being bang opposite the Crystal Palace Bus Station it is not the nicest of venues! Tried once, I will certainly not be returning, and neither will I be recommending this cafe to anyone. There are many more 'greasy spoon' caffs nearby which provide much better fayre, and at half the cost! Don't waste your money.More
A quaint little French café with deliciously simple food! The croque basilica toastie was the perfect light lunch 👌
Well first things first, there is nothing wrong with the taste or presentation of the food. Ours was pretty decent and is priced for people on a budget. The rest of the place was not really up to my epectations though and if I had...know about it I would not have entered. The waitress really did not seem to care and was not in the slightest friendly or helpful. Tables wer left uncleared when they could have done better. Perhaps it was just a very busy day because of all the Open London stuff that was happening around. The other server who was more friendly kept appear to stroke his face and then served people / took money without washing his hands. A health / hygene inspection would not go amiss.More
My partner and I stopped off here yesterday for a coffee. We sat out on the terrace. The restaurant is well presented, the server was pleasant and efficient. The coffee was good too. However, I turned around at one point and saw the server standing by...the till picking at his teeth. His finger was in his mouth. He then immediately served a customer paying her bill. He didn't wash his hands. Putting your fingers in your mouth, or even near it when working with food or drinks is unacceptable always! I will never return to or recommend this place. I'm glad we didn't order any food!!!!More
Basic and popular meeting place for cafe standard food, sit inside or outside with a veranda watching London's traffic. Lots of cyclists stop here as it's a climb up to Crystal Palace and a busy road crossroads, clean separate male & female toilets out the...back.More
This venue was suggested for a meal on Sunday, as a "café" but it is so much more. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the prices not extravagant.
