Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had toured the Palace, now it had reopened, on a Sunny Sunday morning, so decided to have a sandwich lunch in the outdoor cafe, the indoor area being closed in the current circumstances. It was an enjoyable relaxing experience in the sunshine, with tables well-spaced apart and an outdoor ordering point. Service was pretty good, but the sandwiches were a little disappointing. We ordered chicken salad sandwiches, but received chicken which were pretty full of meat, but also pretty bland in taste considering the ingredients included black pepper, which you could taste, and Greek yoghurt, which you couldn't. Thankfully we had also ordered crisps which gave some additional flavour and the cold drinks were very welcome. The score is mainly for the overall environment; it would only be three stars for the food.

After touring the palace this was a welcome break for refreshments. Had coffee and cake which was delicious and reasonable priced. You can eat in or outside. From the coffee shop you can walk to the memorial garden for the late Princess Diana.

Crowded, poor quality, expensive. Captive market exploited. My advice is to take a picnic instead or eat somewhere else.

No social distancing, tables very close together and messed up our drinks order. Luckily McDonald's was open down the road.

I visited here for the first time recently. It was very busy and is located more or less within the gift shop area. There is a good choice of hot and cold food, also with the option of sitting outside. Like with all cafes in stately homes especially and in London, it isn't cheap however if you need a rest and want to enjoy some refreshments, it's quite a nice spot.

Got a drink in this cafe after touring Kensington Palace. Enjoyed the stay. Very busy, as it is both a cafe and a gift shop.

I loved the idea of having afternoon tea at the Palace but after we ordered and paid we were told that because they closed in 30 minutes our food would be served on paper plates and our tea in takeaway cups. This was NOT the fancy experience I had expected from a Palace Cafe. It felt lazy and environmentally irresponsible. AND it wasn't cheap. Although the scones were nice the experience was poor. To me, you are either open or closed and until the moment you stop service, everyone should receive the best you have to offer. With the price they charge for entry to the palace, surely they can pay a staff member for an extra 15 minutes to wash up a couple of plates.

Great place for a quick lunch after the tour. Had a sandwich and a piece of Victoria Sponge Cake which is now my new favourite cake! Plan on grabbing a bite here after your tour of this magnificent palace and gardens!

A reasonable collection of pre-packaged sandwiches - what you would expect from this sort of outlet. They do, however, have some tasty fresh deli rolls and paninis. Vanilla lattes are well made. Staff were really friendly, which was great as they were really busy. In good weather, there is lots of seating outside, which is really nice as you are close to the sunken garden and some impressive hedges. Prices are ‘London prices’. Four drinks and two sandwiches cost £30.00. A good place to start a walk through the park or to take a break on your way through the park

We stopped here for lunch. Not a huge choice, fairly basic, sandwiches, which we had were ok, we then shared a slice of cake, which again was ok. We sat outside, but watch out for the pigeons, tables really need to cleared up quickly before the birds appear! There is a lack of options of where to eat, The orangery wasn't open as to early in the season, and the only other option was just up the path, from the cafe, but no tables for 3 hours! Think they had all been caught out by the sunny weather!

Great viewing of palace however the cafe was a little under whelming. Would have liked the options of oat or almond milk... in 2019 Kensington Palace, get up to date. No vegan cakes or even known brand bars. The one salad on offer was plagued with rocket, the only way to ruin a salad is with rocket. Such a strong taste and acquired taste it’s always best to avoid it... just a pre heads up. Apart from that, a pleasant experience and a short walk from pret, le pain or hjem coffee house. Would have liked to see some refined sugar free bars or cakes, tastier salads that haven’t bee thrown together with no thought of taste!, vegan soup or another warm or toastie style option.
