Delicious food that is fresh and very quickly prepared! Great place before heading to the Clapham Picturehouse. I have recommended it to several people and I am definitely going back. My and my friend were there just before 7 and it was quiet and sweet but even when more people came it was still nice and everyone was so friendly.... More

Mama Lan opened in Brixton Market a few years ago and became soon very popular for the freshly made dumplings. It has now turned into a chain. However unlike other restaurants (eg Honest Burgers and Franco Manca which also started in Brixton Market and then turned into impersonal chains) , Mama Lan has not lost its original character. The food... More

I've been to the Brixton branch and thought I would try the Clapham branch. Mam Lan was really busy which is always a good sign. On this occasion, I ordered takeaway. I ordered one each of the dumplings which were a good size and tasty. I also ordered the spicy chicken wings, which were disappointing because they were so dry.... More

Eaten here several times! Had quick lunch, started with special duck dumplings and good simple wonton soup! Simple, clean, cheap and attentive staff. All in £17

This tiny place is a sister restaurant to the original in Brixton Village, and it's just as good. Equally tiny menu has delicious offerings - 4 kinds of dumpling, lots of soups and noodles, some sides and deserts, nice cocktails, wine, beer. Best of all though, the meat used is all free range, and the produce all fresh from Brixton... More

Mama Lan has been a great addition to the eating spots in Clapham. Small, informal but consistently excellent, fresh cooked food from a small menu. Delightful staff and fun music add to the enjoyment. We have developed an addiction to the vegetable balls!

It's small and you cannot book so be prepared to wait a bit before being seated, but it's worth it! The meat comes from nearby family butchers Moen & Sons and the vegs are from Brixton Market. The menu is small but perfectly formed: dumplings, buns and great noodle soups. I loved the spicy fried tofu and mushroom noodles soup,... More

we love this place, it's so tiny you almost don't notice it - the food is great, especially the dumplings and buns and the service is friendly. We once came and sat by the window and watched the world go by on a rainy saturday a couple of years ago and come back once or twice a month

We tried Mama Lan as I had read a couple of reviews and it did not disappoint. You cannot book and it is very much first come first served so if there are no tables I would hang around and wait as they don't put your name on a list! Service is quick though which means there is never long... More

The business was a small, intimate area with a nice layout. The food had both vegan and meat options which have a variety of choices. I'm vegetarian so I had the tofu, noodle soup and vegetable dumplings while my partner had a fried chicken bun and the beef noodle soup. The food looked fresh, clean and authentic. The service was...
