As I often do we had the prix fixe menu - it is faster - quite important at lunch time - and has a small byt delicious selection for a 2-3 course meal. I thoroughly recommend the Jerusalem artichoke soup, the endives salad and the confit duck!

Boulestin seem to have captured the feel of a French restaurant in France which is rather good. It reminds me of several Parisian restaurants I have visited, so if you are seeking an 'authentic' ambience, then this is it. On to the food. We had tuna tartare and foie gras, both of which were a real delight. The flavours literally... More

My partner booked Boulstin for Valentines - I had never heard of it, and this made me wary as I'm familiar with many of the good restaurants London has to offer. When we arrived, my initial impression was that the restaurant was quite small, and pretty quiet, but the restaurant has a nice relaxed vibe, and I was quite comfortable... More

We used a Tripadvisor deal at this restaurant and were so impressed. We had the full choice of the a la carte menu which included some delicious dishes. The food was very nicely presented and the service was excellent. The decor and ambiance completed the experience. Boulestin is certainly worth visiting.

We visited this restaurant with a Travelzoo voucher and have to say how impressed I was with the food, service and atmosphere. This hidden gem has a real French feel to it. The staff were attentive but not overly so. The food was amazing. We had perfectly cooked chateaubriand and this was served with the most amazing chips. The dessert... More

From the outside it is a bit unprepossessing, on the inside you realise that you have made the right decision by entering. The restaurant is well set out and the service is first rate as is the food. My visit was a passing glance in the window and thought that it could be ok, my expectations were exceeded and I... More

Visited this place off Piccadilly Saturday afternoon for a late brunch. Interior was stylish and as it was quiet plenty of places to sit and enjoy a peaceful meal. We opted for tea and coffee and cakes: cinnamon donuts with lemon curd and a rhubarb crumble. Great professional service with smartly dressed waiters and lovely cakes. Not cheap but reasonable... I travel to Paris a great deal and have a deep appreciation of this type of cuisine. The lunch I was served at Boulestin was exceptional and the ambience and service was second to none. Everything from the wine list, the bread and the meal itself was faultless.

Really nice, friendly people. You know when you get that feeling that they couldn't do enough for you? Doesn't happen often does it? As another diner said, it made our night. Great food, I started with seared foie gras and smoked pear then blackened rump of Welsh lamb medium rare. A helpful suggestion from the resident expert on the wine... More

Description
Boulestin is an elegant and convivial Restaurant and brasserie-style Cafe in St James's serving classic French dishes inspired by the 20th-century food expert and first TV chef, Xavier Marcel Boulestin. The brain-child of renowned restaurateur, Joel Kissin, Boulestin brings back old-school dishes such as Oeuf en Gelee, Jambon Persille, Daube of Beef, Steak Tartare and Cassoulet, using M. Boulestin's original recipes, and couples them with impeccable service. With a Private Dining Room and pretty outdoor terrace-style Courtyard for al fresco dining, Boulestin is the perfect destination, whether you're after a celebratory dinner, special event dining, pre/post theatre meal or just a quick bite or light meal in the Cafe.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
